One of the Best Times of Our Lives

  • 5 of 5
We spent a fantastic week with our friends on this beautiful property overlooking Barnstable Harbor. The boat house was the perfect setting for my partner's surprise proposal, and the property managers Paul and Mike were absolutely fantastic to work with. The views from the backyard are probably some of the best you'll find in New England, and the houses themselves lend very well to entertaining groups of friends and family. While very 60's modern in style, the main house didn't feel dated at all and was a fun setting for our evening game nights. The guest house was a series of pleasant little bedrooms that all had windows or patios that overlooked the beautiful gardens. The boat house was probably the best of all, since it sits on a private beach (during low tide) and has lots of canoes, kayaks, and beach furniture for adventures as well as lounging. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for beautiful views and a little piece of heaven on the Cape.

Best place we've stayed on the Cape yet!

Best place we've stayed on the Cape yet!

This property is gorgeous. Sitting up on the bluff, we enjoyed sunsets looking over the bay. You can see your family and friends swim below as they set off from the enormous boathouse that had it all: kids' toys, canoe, kayaks and deck. Evenings, we'd take s'mores down to the bonfire.
We loved the natural beach which had 2 entrances: one rocky and the other grassy. Just bring your water shoes and swim out to one of the many islands or sand bars that appear at low tide. Our young kids enjoyed it as much as our 70 year old parents!
The kitchen was our favorite place in the house. Large, open and connects to a sitting & dining area so one was never alone when cooking. Lots of beds in the guesthouse. The estate can really accommodate large parties comfortably so that everyone has privacy and space.
If we were in need of anything, Paul was quick to see that we had it. This is the kind of hospitality that makes you feel at ease using anything and makes you feel good about leaving your fancy olive oil behind for the next person. We hope to be back next year!

A Dream Vacation

  • 5 of 5
My Dad was lucky enough to find this amazing place by chance after searching for weeks to find a house with enough bedrooms and could accommodate my parents two little dogs. <3 Every year we get together as a family for a week on Cape Cod to enjoy precious time together that seems hard to find in the midst of all of our busy lives back home.
There is a saying "Life is not measured by the breaths we take...but by the moments that take our breath away." For me, arriving at this place, was just that kind of moment. Knowing I would be spending a week here with people I love...took my breath away. This vacation spot is one that any age will enjoy. The accomodations were wonderful. The rooms were clean and the house was like no other we have ever stayed in. We spent a lot of time cooking in the kitchen! We all took turns making appetizers, breads, lunches and dinners. My dad made a great clam chowder with fresh clams he had gathered earlier that day along the beach. We really enjoyed taking the kayakes out! The beach was great during the day and the boat house was where we ended up each and every night. Laugh we did!
Mike & Paul who manage the property were so welcoming to our family. I can't say enough about the way they made us feel at ease the entire week.
My long time boyfriend asked me to take a walk one night after dinner down to the beach before the sun set. It was such a peaceful evening and he proposed to me at the beach. I said "Yes!"...and we are already in the midst of planning a small wedding there later this year!
I can honestly say it was the best vacation any of us have been on together. We didn't want to leave and cannot wait to go back! It was paradise!
I would highly recommend this place to anyone, you will never want to leave. <3

Fantastic View

  • 5 of 5
Character, Sunrise View, Oysters, Kayaking, deck party, boat house, beach firers, relaxation all tell the story of this rental property. We traveled with four teenagers and a 11 year old. The teenagers would walk or jog to the village to visit the ice cream store. Fresh sea food could be brought cooked or uncooked at local marina, whale watching trips also left from the same area. The view from the master suite was beautiful.... watched many a sunrise. This is truly a place for those who love nature.. the kitchen was cooked in by Julia Child's and views the gardens and you can watch the bay while cooking your fresh clams. The teens had their own area in the guest house to do "their thing". The main living room is spacious and looks out on the porch/bay one side and garden on other. It has a bar, fire place, and seating for 20 plus people for a casual party. We kayaked everyday and watched the kids bond. (important with teens) The bike trails are only about a mile away. There are 3.5 fridges, fully stocked kitchen and grill.......which made our dinner party's a success. The claw foot bathtub in the guest house kept capturing my sister... while the girls and I took in the sauna and whirl pool tub. I enjoyed showering in the bamboo forrest. We will be back to stay again.
Now .... this property was also made special because of the managers Paul and Mike..... they made sure we had everything... from boats, to mixers, to taking fire wood down to the water, to bringing a puppy to the girls to hug, gave advice/information on any activity we possibly would want to do. They are fantastic :D

Couldn't have been better

Where can you go with a group ages 1-87 and find everything that you might need - this is the place. The rooms are set up to afford as much privacy and convenience to the bathrooms as possible - bath tubs and showers that are easy to use, the kitchen has everything you might need and we were given a second 10 cup coffee maker - our hosts offered before we thought to ask. We fed 21 lobster cooked easily in the kitchen and served to everyone at the same long table on the porch overlooking the sound at sunset - a dinner no one will forget. The bedding and towels were more than adequate and a washer and dryer (with detergent - THANKS!) allowed us to stay ahead of the laundry and made our departure easy. The setting is perfect to just sit or engage in group activities. The easy to push wheelbarrow made arrival and departure easy and added fun for the 1-6 year olds as we played ride around the property looking for rabbits and even a fox (a few sightings! from a short distance).
The property was clean and waiting for us on our arrival. The nearby BJ's was exactly what we needed for meal planning for a group. The nearby Barnstable Bus Station/Stop made it easy to get those arriving without a car from Logan. Those with a car enjoyed taking in all that The Cape had to offer and those wanting to just hang out had the perfect spot. One evening we had oysters that were harvested from the shoreline earlier in the day - the freshest and best ever!
We had a family reunion of a life time - thanks for allowing us to make it happen so easily - we'll be back from California, Florida, BVI and Arizona not mention those that live in state.

Everything Outstanding

  • 5 of 5
Our 7 day stay was excellent from beginning to end. The setting and house exceeded or expectations and the caretakers did just that. Paul and Mike looked out for all our needs but were not intrusive. They provided for a relaxing and beautiful visit. I would highly recommend this perfect place for anyone, especially large family gatherings.
Staying around the property was great as well as day trips out to Martha's vineyard, Provincetown, the National Seashore, and good places to eat. A week was not long enough. You just don't want to leave this place.
