My husband has lived in Lincoln City since 1981. He is a Broker at Prudential Taylor & Taylor Realty. I have lived in the area since 1988. Together we own Prudential Taylor & Taylor Realty Co. We own this home personally. Since we live in the area we are close and here to answer questions our renters may have.
Vickie Regen purchased this house in 2003
Located on the oceanfront with fabulous views overlooking the majestic Pacific Ocean. You can enjoy whale watching, rolling waves, pelicans skimming the oceans surface and surfers. Ideal location - it is near the Factory Outlet Mall, restaurants, and Cultural Center too!
A wall of windows across the ocean front. Gas fireplace in the living room plus big screen TV. Large sun deck with built in benches. Beach access near by. Festivals and events to attend throughout the whole year.
We had a really lovely stay at this great house on the bluff with unobstructed ocean views. We watched the Gray Whales over breakfast, surfers riding the waves, and we walked the beautiful beach below for hours every day. We have never seen our dogs so happy (or tired!). We were so fortunate to have 65-70 degree weather in mid-October at the coast, and we soaked up every ray of sun possible. We spent lots of time watching the Gray Whales at Boiler Bay, just north of Depoe Bay; they were quite close to the rocks, and there were several at any given time (no Dramamine required).
J's Fish and Chips (just up the street) has fabulous Clam Chowder, and their various types of Fish and Chips are some of the best we have ever had! For a nicer meal, Blackfish Café and Bakery is some of the best food around; make a reservation, especially if you are going for dinner on the weekend. If you are looking for the freshest seafood and reasonable prices for dinner 'at home', go to Barnacle Bill's for Crab, Prawns, Fish, and amazing smoked salmon. Rogue Brewery in Newport has great beer and a nice menu as well; bring your Growler for a fill.
The house was clean, and check-in was a breeze. Vickie was very friendly & helpful throughout the entire booking process. The kitchen was well-stocked (note: the one cookie sheet does not fit in the oven) and they have a charcoal Weber grill (BYO Charcoal, etc.). There is a table and chairs set available for dining outside.
My one gripe is that there wasn't any kind of outdoor lounge furniture for that amazing, sunny deck. It would have really added to the experience to have a couple of nice lounge chairs for reading a book (or napping) to the sound of the pounding surf below. There were two (broken) Adirondack chairs in the garage, and one day during our stay, somebody came in and got them. Fortunately, we were not in the house with our dogs at the time.
All in all, we would stay here again, and would recommend this property for a quiet getaway.
If you want a rental with a perfect view? You will find it here.. The sight, and sounds of the sea are fantastic. The cottage is everything they advertise. +
My wife and I highly recommend this rental to anyone who is without children and not physically impaired.
The reason for this is the stairs you must climb in order to reach the living area. there are 2 stairways. The one
from the garage is extremely steep and narrow. To get out of the rain I used them twice in the two weeks that we spent in the unit. Because of my heart condition I was totally exhausted by the time I reached the top'
the outside stairs are wider and not as steep but the drawback is that the sliding door can only be opened from the inside , so unless someone in your party is capable of handling the inside stairs to open the door you are stranded on the deck.
There are no railings on the deck so children could fall down the steep bluff.
We had a fantastic 2 weeks and wish to thank Vickie for all her help.
This home has an amazing view! Sunsets at night are beautiful and the home has all the amenities you need. The gas fireplace is great for the chilly nights. I would definitely stay here again!
We recently stayed at this house and had a great time. Two adults, 7 year old and 1 dog! The views from the house are awesome. The house sits up high on a bluff which makes for great whale watching. We saw a few whale spouts, whale back and even a whale tail(fluke). We even spotted a few seals or sea lions too. The access to the beach is just a short drive or walk down the hill. I didn't think Lincoln City had many tide pools but I heard there were some at Roads End but I noticed to the left of the house when standing on the deck that there were some rocks sticking out of the ocean. So, we headed down there at low tide and BINGO--tide pools galore full of starfish, mussels, small fish, crabs, etc. If you like tide pooling then it's a must see. The house was very comfortable and having the garage for the dog to hang out in until he dried worked perfectly. Vicki was easy to work with on the booking. My 7 year old was very sad to leave. We will be back!
This property has an outstanding view. It is up on a bluff over the beach so you can see out on the ocean. We watched whales every day from inside the house and out on the deck. It is just breathtaking. The house is great. Plenty of room for us and our pooches. The gas fire place is nice in the evening to take the chill off. It is a short walk to the beach and once you get there, it is a great area to let the dogs run because they can't get out to a road because of the cliffs by the ocean. The house doesn't have any area to walk a dog, but you can go across the road and there is a forested open space where they can go. Very nice place and I would recommend it. Probably the only down side would be if you had small children you might not want to let them be "loose" on the deck because there isn't a rail. However, I loved it because the view was so open. Most places you have to look through a rail or objects to the see the ocean. It is just a wide open, fantastic view. Very private.
Great cozy house with Amazing views!! Great location with easy walk to beach access. Would definitely rent again!
