LUXURY COTTAGE STYLE STONE HOUSE IN BEAUTIFUL LOCATION ON MIZEN HEAD PENINSULA

We (family of 5 with 3 kids, 5 to 10) just spent 2 weeks in Libeen and did not regret a moment though the weather could have been really better. But the house (and the large garden) were much more than the photos promised.
The good working central heating and the dryer and the fire place as well warmed us and our clothes after some wet weather experiences.

Already in advance Catherines emails gave us feeling to be welcome in their retreat, so did her call (and that of her housekeeper) on our day of arrival to check everything is ok. As there are family fotos on the walls, fridge etc and other personal details, you have always have the feeling to visit friends and to stay in an exchangeable rental. (And were else do you find wet suits and beach toys for the children).

Our children loved the garden, in which they played with fairies and leprechauds (at least in their imagination). The lawn (when it was dry) invited them to roll down the hill.

The conservatory was our faverorite place in the morning - if no wider sights were possible due to rain and/or fog at least a bunch of rabbits entertained us. Next to this the very comfortable sofa was much in use as it offred enough space for all of us to read a book to the children.

There could be told much more, but I only can invite to make an own impression, if you are looking for a comfortable retreat (and if you are adventurous enough to drive up along steep single track - which has been the only disadvantage for me and was giving me my daily dosis of adrenalin).

We love spending time in this gorgeous traditional house with all the mod cons in West Cork. The property is clean, well equipped and comes with everything you would expect in a family home from a wood burning fire, well equipped kitchen, outdoor eating area and comfy living room. We love reading in the beautiful conservatory with fabulous views over Dunmanus Bay.

The house is packed with maps and guides to the local area. We took our three children to explore the lovely white sandy beaches, to ride the waves on their mini boards, to go walking on the spectacular cliffs, musselling in the bay at low tide and horse-riding in in the surrounding countryside. We also enjoyed the pool and health club in the Harbour View Hotel Schull and took several day trips to the local islands.

The fishing villages of Schull, Crookhaven and Balledehob have plenty of nice restaurants and pubs in easy reach of the house. Blairs Cove offers more sophisticated dining with great seafood in a waterside location.

We would certainly recommend this house to friends and family. The area is beautifully unspoilt and it really feels like you have got away from the hustle and bustle without it being too remote.
