Create Chatham Memories:
We have enjoyed vacationing in Chatham for almost 10 years now. We have enjoyed it so much we bought this home on Cedar Street in 2006. The memories include watching our kids enjoy a day at the beach at Oyster Pond. (They enjoy memories of the ice cream truck) With the kids a bit older now we find ourselves now enjoying Lighthouse beach. There is so much to do for kids of all ages from deep sea fishing, golf, swimming, shopping and dining out to reading a good book on a summer afternoon. (We have a nice hammock for just this purpose!) Our memories were created by the generosity of a family opening up their home to our family. We look forward to helping you build your family memories by opening up our home to you.
A Typical Summer Day at 308 Cedar :
The day starts with a nice home cooked breakfast (sometimes though we eat out or pick up Dunkin Donuts) enjoyed around the dining room table which is open to the kitchen. There is alot of discussion around that days plans but ultimately everyone gets to do what they desire. That includes Dad playing some golf at Chatham Links before meeting up with the family at Lighthouse beach. Mom likes to window shop (at least that is what she tells Dad) the many cute shops while the kids get their fix at the Chatham Candy Manor. The day winds down with everyone relaxing around the house. The kids playing catch in the back yard while Mom and Dad read their book or surf the Internet. Dinner is usually a cookout of freshly caught seafood combined with cookout regulars such as burgers and hot dogs. On those evenings when the Chatham A's are playing our day ends watching some of the best college players around the country play ball. It does not get any better than this!
Is it Off-season or is it the Best Season?:
Everyone loves Chatham in the summer but perhaps Spring and Fall are even better. Not until we purchased this home did we learn about the true beauty of the Cape and Chatham during the off-season. In short, you get most of the summer benefits such as good golfing, fishing, shopping, and dining without the crowds. Everything from tee-times to reservations at your favorite restaurants are easier to come by! Yes, the ocean is a little bit too cold for swimming, although I have seen some brave souls give it a try. Are you a brave soul? Try a Spring, Fall or even a Winter get-away to Chatham. Trust me, you will not be disappointed! I would tell you about First Night in Chatham, but it is so much fun we reserve that time for ourselves!
