Buenos Aires una citta che vive a tutte le ore, una nuova destinazione da scoprire!!
che e' anche il punto di partenza per scoprire il nostro paese;
We stayed 8 days in this apartment and would highly recommend it to anyone. It was well equipped, clean and well maintained. The pictures were very accurate, and the location in Palermo was excellent. There are many
restaurants and shopping in the area, and it is not that far to walk to the subway (subte).
My wife & I stayed here for 9 nights and had a great time. We walked the city (You will be close to many parks), used the subway & ate and drank our way through Pelermo. TIP: (Split the beef LOMO unless you want leftovers for the next night) The apt. looks just like the pictures. No surprises. There are two A/C units but we only used the one in the bedroom. Slept well. You have some kind of view from every room. Windows open in three directions so always a breeze. The balcony was a big hit. Think sunsets & wine. What a treat after walking the area. There are so many good places to eat within easy walking distance. A local wine shop and supermarkets everywhere. The mom & pop's were less on many things then the chains.
If one of you drinks beer the Argentine way to buy it is in a Liter bottle. In fact the Rest. serve it this way too. You will have to pay a deposit you can't get back unless you buy more beer. Another words when you leave you will be out the money. We left two empty's to get you started by the hot water heater also cervezaantares.com.
Lilian was a pleasure to work with and has family in the area to take care of you. Also a very friendly bldg. maintenance man is there almost every day.
We left many helpful suggestions in the apt. comment book like Rest. names, a wine we liked very much, and WHERE TO CHANGE MONEY. You see it on the net. BRING CASH in US $$! Had we used any bank ATM our bank, CHASE would have charged us $5.00 US PLUS 3% of the transaction and I'm sure the local ATM owner would have a fee too. On top of that you get the bank to bank exchange of around 8 to 1 and they limit the amount you can get each day so even more fees!!! The BLUE rate when we were there ranged between 10.40 & 10.70 for cash. You can Google it each day to check the rate. Expect to get a little less then the rate you see on line. That's how many Argentine Peso's it takes to buy a dollar. You will be selling them. Just follow the instructions we left or take a cab. We left the address. This is not a Florida St. thing. No one trying to hustle you from the street and taking you who knows where. You have to be sent by someone. No markings and no name. Got directions from a nice American lady married to a retired Argentine .
We had no trouble. Looked like a bank window inside. To get all this great info and more all you have to do is give yourself a treat instead of a treatment and rent Lilian's very nice Apt. You will be glad you did....we were.
This apartment you have to watch out for the following:
1) Two nights we could not sleep because of a very noisy next neighbor, visitors at
hours of the night.
2) Poorly maintained-
a) Coffee pot that blew up and main breaker was kicked.
b) Mini blind that was broken and could not be closed completely.
c) A broken entry door (more on this later)
3) Checking out -
a) They charged us for the locksmith that had to come out an open the door.
We were lead to believe, from property manager, that he would arrange the
locksmith but we would have to pay and we would get it back at checkout
This was $180.00 Peso.
b) Locksmith advised us that the problem was not with the lock, but with a
faulty door. Which we believe the property manager was aware of. That is
the reason for a slide bolt lock at the base of the door. Locksmith showed
us how to lock door and not have problem again.
c) At final check out, the property manager (per the owner), said we had to
pay for the locksmith. Said we broken the door. Remember this was
$180.00 Peso. Property Manager (again per owner), we had to pay for a
pay for a new lock. which the locksmith said was not the problem. The
Property Manger showed us a receipt for a new lock, which looked old.
He showed us a lock which also looked old. We finally ended paying
$195.00 for the supposed new lock, which was 1/2 the amount he showed
d) So our final checkout was an additional $375.00 Peso. This all felt like a
scam for more money.
All this is for a problem that we did not create. These problems are due to poor
maintenance. Not due to anything we did.
The apartment has a terrific balcony, very roomy and comfortable. We loved the location and how safe we felt is this area. We are planning to go back to BA in February for 3 months, but we will not return to this apartment. For the extra money it would cost you, you can get a nicer place in the same area.
The pictures and description of this apartment are accurate. We enjoyed the neighborhood, and we also explored BA from this apartment. The Plaza Italia subway (SUBTE) is just a few blocks away - and your gateway to the rest of the city. But Palermo Soho offers so much - we walked to the gardens, the zoo, the grocery store, ATM, and visited the wonderful restaraunts as well. The patio is so welcome - for coffee in the morning and drinks and dinner in the evening while watching the sunset. And the bedroom windows open to this terrace as well. The apartment is well equiped and all appliances were in good order. The washer was most welcome, as was internet service. Our driver was very nice, even when coming to fetch us at 2:00 a.m. local time for our flight out of EZE.
People in the neighborhood generally just ignored us - how nice - as we wandered around, yet shop keepers were accomodating of our questions as well.
The terrace is absolutely amazing! So pleasant to sit out there with a morning coffee or a cool drink in the late afternoon. The rest of the apartment is just right for a couple, plenty of storage space, a fully equipped kitchen (although you'd be crazy not to try as many of the local restaurants as possible) and, an often overlooked issue: great water pressure, so you're not trying to shower in a little drizzle!
With all the shopping and restaurants options in the area, plus the parks, you could easily spend 3-4 days just exploring Palermo from here, but the fact that it's close to the Plaza Italia subte is another added bonus.
The owners were super-easy to work with, even arranging for a driver to pick us up given our very late incoming international flight. Even the building super was nice---answering our poorly phrased Spanish questions about the neighborhood.
Great location, excellent view from balcony. Well furnished apartment and convenient location. Very accomodating owner who accomodated our arrival and departure times. Would love to spend a longer time there on future visit.
