Description: The kitchen overlooks the river and a 300ft. tree. The house can be completely opened and closed with shutters sometimes allowing birds to swoop freely through the house. Garden flowers attract humming birds and a variety of other bird species. Beautiful veranda as you enter the house gives the first view of the Rio Negra River. Long L-shaped upholstered benches on the first floor comfortably sleep 2 people and provide a social setting adjacent to the kitchen.

The Town: The Town of Puerto Viejo was once called 'Old Harbor' where it was possible to hitch a ride on a banana boat to distant ports on the Caribbean without the papers needed today. In today's world it is called 'A Happenin Place'. Time slows down, music and food abound and a relaxed timelessness experience is had by all.
