Lovely home, location and owner

Close enough to town for conveniences without the hustle and bustle. This charming cottage was just the thing for a lovely Hawaiian getaway. Beautiful Balinese and South Seas decorations add to the charm of this well appointed space. Gorgeous hand made furniture made by the owner gave it an extra special touch. Your host is gracious and very knowledgeable. You will have lovely flowers in your room waiting for you, as well as hand made soap from a local craftsperson. The home is located on a wonderful stretch of beach that makes for relaxing, long walks, and excellent snorkeling and sealife watching. We got to see a huge turtle up close as she was taking a nap in the sun on the beach. Lovely views to the water from the cottage through large glass doors that surround the living area. Very cozy and comfortable, but chic at the same time. Beautiful flowers, statues, fountains add an extra special feeling to the grounds. Truly a peaceful and romantic escape for anyone looking to recharge their batteries and enjoy what Hawaii has to offer. Local market, galleries, and restaurants are a short drive or bike ride away. Snorkel and beach equipment provided, as well as bikes if you want to see the sights a little more up close and personal. Home is very clean and comfortable. Kitchen has everything you will need to prepare meals at home.

The Perfect Hawaiian Vacation!

I loved my stay at Tom's place on the North Shore. My time extended over Halloween and I was invited to join in the fun that night decorating pumpkins and dispersing candy which I enjoyed immensely. I am a very private person and enjoyed the beach to myself on most days to walk on the beach, observe the turtles and watch the winter waves grow taller each day for the competition surfers. Right down the street from historic Haleiwa for ice cream and margaritas! You do need a rental car but there is plenty of space for parking. This is a home, not a hotel so adjust your expectations accordingly (room service, ect). The cottage is a very clean beautifully decorated abode that I would highly recommend! Tom knows the island in and out and can direct you to wherever you want to go and do (from a massuess to the closest Costco to which beach has the largest wave that day!). Invite him out to eat and get lots of entertainment, interesting conversation and knowledge of the island that you don't get anywhere else!

Tom was the most generous host one could ask for. The house sits right in front of the beach so morning coffee or an evening drink at the table in front of the beach is a relaxing way to appreciate the stunning view. The rooms have beautiful asian antiques and great coffee table books to browse through. We have a 20 month-old and not only was Tom accommodating in this regard but she really enjoyed the beautiful garden and of course the beach. We really enjoyed it and hope to return next year.

Serene North Shore cottage with great beach access

We had a great time at this beachfront cottage in Wailua. Great location for the North Shore - loved that we were only 5 mins away from Hale'iwa (cool little surfing town with pretty good selection of shops and restaurants).
No AC (fine for most people, and really wasn't bad for us, but my husband is a native Floridian and likes it cold.)
Nice little kitchen with granite countertops and a more than adequate supply of cooking utensils and condiments / basic spices / etc.
Unit was very clean. Landscaping outside was beautiful.
Beach was nice too.

Wonderful Time on North Shore

My husband and I spend 4 wonderful nights at this lovely cottage June 10 - 14, 2008. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you see in person. We started and ended each day at the table by the beach. We woke up each morning to singing birds and fragrant flowers. The garden around house is absolutely beautiful. We felt welcomed and well provided for. We had everything we needed. The cottage is a short 5 minute drive to Hale'iwa where several good restaurants await you. North Shore Marketplace is excellent for souveniers. Dole Plantation and Turtle Bay Resort are only 20 minutes away.
