If you know what you want to do....

There is so much to do in the Washington/Tacoma/Olympia area the biggest problem with the condo was leaving it in the morning to go and do it! The location was really very good, close to highway and shopping. Coffee shop was lovely to visit as well. Property was clean and well maintained. There was breakfast food and some snacks but grocery store was close by to stock up as needed. One thing I would recommend is to shop on your first day or two if you plan to eat in so you have what you need for cooking in the lovely kitchen. The condo does come with all the cooking utensils but you may need some cooking basics, like a certain oil, which may not be there. If it isn't already there, get what you like and leave it for the next tenant!
The train station was within walking distance although we never used it as I originally planned, as well as other shops and sights. You did hear the train whistles coming thru town. The park right next door had a summer concert series with daytime events for kids and evening events for the family one or two nights during the week. Built in entertainment and the park was lovely to walk around as well.
We had no problems without air conditioning since all rooms had ceiling fans and the nights cool down. (The days weren't too hot either!) The sun could be warm in the living area during the day but we were out then anyway. The only problem with leaving the windows open at night is the street noise in the morning if you like to sleep in. The condo is on the corner so you have good views and can get nice ventilation but some traffic noise is possible at certain times of day.
There is a rooftop deck with a barbecue but it was smaller than expected with just a few chairs and tables which could be used inside or outside. We did enjoy some wine out on the deck.
From Puyallup, we went to Mt. Rainier, Seattle (I should have taken the train to avoid the parking concerns), Tacoma, Olympia, Port Townsend, and even a day trip to Leavenworth which provided a lovely drive, a great hike on the Sway and good German food! If you get an early start you can drive far and be back by night fall since in the summer it stays light out so late! But as I said, some days it may be hard to leave the condo...
The owner was great to work with and I would highly recommend this property as a home base for your adventures or to just relax in.
