Siasconset village is on the southeast edge of Nantucket. The house itself is on Low Beach Rd with a 120 degree view of the water. Large yard for kids, quiet cull-de-sac safe for beginner bike riders. 12 minute drive (8 miles) to Nantucket town, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The house has 2 master bedroom suites - 1 on first floor with wheelchair accessibility. The house is owned and designed by a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician who wants Nantucket to be accessible for everyone. The wrap around deck to the house is ramped from the driveway. Previous renters have included a quadriplegic gentleman and his family who attest to the accessibility. Hospital bed and other medical equipment rental are available through the Nantucket hospital and pharmacy. Bring your van/car over on the ferry (Steamship Authority) or use one of the wheelchair van taxis. Upstairs includes 2nd master w/Queen bed, bunk bed room, and 2nd queen bedroom. All have ocean views

Maximum relaxation is achieved by walking to Low Beach, where except for the occasional seal, you may not see anybody for hours. 'Sconset village is a 15 minute walk along the ocean to markets, restaurants and art galleries and the beach at Codfish Park. The entire village is beautifully landscaped, the beach is always accessible and the air redolent of rose and hyacinth. There is nothing like this to be found elsewhere in the world.

Fabulous Vacation

We have stayed here every summer since the house was built. Fabulous views from every room, fishing across the street, bicycling everywhere. We had big family dinners overlooking the ocean, and coffee on the porch while all the morning walkers and joggers pass by on the most beautiful street on the island. Walk along the beach to the village, or along the street next to ocean where all the houses have beautiful gardens. The rooms are large and comfortable with lovely furniture and decorations (love the paintings by your mom). The neighborhood is terrific, friendly neighbors, very little traffic down the lane, so small children safe on bikes. The new outdoor shower is awesome. We can't wait to go back this summer.

PS these old photo's don't do it justice-- flower pots and the hydrangeas are beautiful as are the day lillies and small hedge that enclose the yard.
