Non Smoking Family & Pet friendly second floor apartment. Private entrance and parking. Full kitchen, completely furnished including service for four, all towels & linens are privided. New this year, we have added a full size washer & dryer to the unit for or guests convenience. We have basic cable and DVD/VHS player. Deck w/ BBQ Grill, outside picnic table, swing, hammock. We are located 5 mi. from downtown BH, close to main Acadia Park entrance. Wildlife right out your window. Ocean less than half mi. away. Hamilton's Pond right down the street is a favorite fishing location, teaming w/ bass, perch, and other fresh water fish, turtles, beavers, and assorted bird life, such as eagles and peregrine falcons. Included- Free Weeks Pass to access all Acadia National Park has to offer. Enjoy the peace and quiet of Downeast Maine. Well behaved pets welcome.

Hiking, Bicycling: Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park offer many miles of hiking trails and carriage paths that are all well maintained and provide fantastic opportunities to enjoy the many natural wonders the island has to offer. There are multiple business offering bike rentals close by or bring your own bikes, we offer secure areas to store them while you are here.

Kayaking, canoeing, boating.: Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park offer vast opportunities to explore the area from both fresh water and salt water venues. There are several places to rental canoes or kayaks or feel free to bring your own, we have plenty of space to securely store them during your stay.

Bird Watching: Mount Desert Island, Acadia National Park and the Downeast Maine area are a bird watchers paradise. From eagles, osprey and peregrines to multitudes of water fowl as well as many various visitors on migratory routes the numbers of birds are phenomenal. Whether you chose to simply watch the chicadees, nuthatch and goldfinch that visit our feeders or the eagles that hunt on the pond down the street, there is always a variety of species to marvel at.

Nestled in the woods of the historic Emory District of Salisbury Cove in Bar Harbor. We are about 5 miles from the head of the island as well as downtown Bar Harbor and a short distance to the main entrance of Acadia National Park. Right down the street is Hamiltion's Pond, a perfect spot for fishing and canoeing and home to abundant wildlife. Enjoy all the island has to offer, we are just short ride away; hiking, biking, golf, shopping. Bar Harbor events this season include Music Festivals, weekly band concerts, July 4th events, live theatre, whale watching and of course shopping. Travel the island on the free Island Explorer bus system or explore the park yourself with our complimentary Acadia Pass

Other Activities: Hollywood Casino located about an hour away.

Golf: 3 golf courses on the island. Bar Harbor has the Kebo Valley Golf Club, an 18 hole course with cart rentals available. A nationally ranked course that is approx. 5 miles away from rental.. In Northeast there is the Northeast Harbor Golf Club, also an 18 hole course with cart rentals and approx. 12 miles from the rental. In Southwest there is Causeway Club, a 9 hole course with tennis courts on-site. It is approx. 15 miles from the rental. A short drive off island there is Vokes Driving range, as well as the Bar Harbor Golf course. A number of other courses are a short drive away.

This is a GREAT apartment! It's Located in a really wonderful area. Peace and quiet describe your stay perfectly. Gayle and Rob are friendly, helpful and welcoming to their guests without intruding. You can get all over the island from their location easily. In fact, to visit the "other side" of the island is easier from this location. They have a welcome book with really terrific descriptions of various hikes, their difficulty level, how to find them, where to park and what you will experience on the hike. I found this extremely helpful. I absolutely suggest the Wonderland Hike! The beach head is a bit of heaven on earth. We saw deer each evening on the property! The Pond just down from the property is full of birdlife! The apartment was clean, bright, airy and very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could need or want. The deck was a perfect place to reflect on the day and enjoy a glass of wine. I really enjoyed my stay and would totally reccomend this property.
