We have traveled all over and enjoy hosting other travelers at our 'Home Away From Home'. When we first saw this home...all we wanted to do was stay and never return to the stresses of life. Alas, we couldn't escape to the Cabin as often as we planned, so the next best thing was to make it available to those Vacation Home Rental travelers that know the secret of comfortable hospitality and surroundings at prices and environments offered that are superior to city-centered Hotel Suites. ENJOY!
Jack or Lenore purchased this cabin in 2006
Our Home is in the perfect location for those who want to enjoy: the 'Gatlinburg Cabin' feeling without driving all the way to East Tennessee, being close enough to participate in Nashville's BIG-CITY 'sights and Sounds' and, enjoy local festivals and visiting wonderful historic sites and activities just minutes from our Home.
When we first pulled into the driveway and saw this home it felt to us like we had just arrived at a 'Vacation Destination'. The setting, the trees, the lake, the cabins and the scent of the evergreen trees were welcoming and familiar. Our home offers a relaxing atmosphere, beautiful lake, the freedom of 'doing nothing' and plenty of things to see in the area. Forget about your 'rushed life', the job, tons of 'appointments' to keep. Come and reconnect with your family and friends, enjoy the awesome sunsets and sunrises and feel the 'pressures' just melt away.
We really enjoyed your home. It is a wonderful place in a beautiful setting. We rented a pontoon boat and focused on fishing and we caught lots of fish. It was a peaceful and restful stay. Hopefully we will be back on our annual get-away next year. It was great.
We rented both of these cabins. I would recommend these to anyone. Quiet and beeeeeutiful!! We could not have had anything better. What a welcome relief from a hotel.
My old college friend and I spent 3 nights here in 10/11 and we were both thrilled with the accommodations. The cottage was immaculate, well appointed, and extremely comfortable. We spent a lot of time in Nashville - which was a bit of a drive but the cottage was worth the trip. The surrounding area was pretty with the lake and peaceful with the rolling hills. For the price, it was a true bargain and a far cry from any chain hotel! Jack was very pleasant and accommodating as well. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.
This home was everything and more for our family. We had traveled back to middle Tennessee for my niece's wedding (only a few miles away at the Pick Inn) and were very pleased with this property. The owner is very helpful, the home beautifully decorated and the grounds well kept. My 94 year old mother came with us, and the home and patio area were very easy for her to get around in. The grandchildren enjoyed fishing in Old Hickory Lake across the street and exploring in the yard. The Pick Inn was the site of the wedding; more deer and wild turkey came out to witness the event than I have ever seen in one place! Nearby is the county seat of Sumner County, a charming southern town to explore. There is lots of history in this area of Tennessee and a beautiful State Park nearby. If you are traveling to Nashville and the surrounding counties, I suggest staying at this property. If you need more room, rent the adjoining home and you have a wonderful place to stay for a larger group.
Our Softball gang stayed at this beautiful place from 9-16-2010 to 9-20-2010. We had a bonfire in the front on one of the cooler evenings. You could see the lake and the moon from all our positions around the fire. In the early mornings, we could all meet on the lower level patio to discuss the day and our upcoming games. The inside was pristine. Everything fresh and clean. This is where we want to stay the next time we have games in that area. Some of us did a little exploring in the huge yard. I found a tourtise shell that I have already cleaned up and have on my table.
Very relaxing and love the lake. The cottage was a home away from home. We cooked most of our meals and had a full kitchen with everything we needed. We were there for my oldest sisters birthday and even made hot cake (her favorite). Cozy place to stay but not far away from stores and restaurants, even to Nashville was a nice ride. Jack introduced himself and made sure everything was ok for our stay. My other sister spent most of her time at the lake fishing. It rained really hard one night but we just set outside on the deck, listened to the rain and played cards. i'd say it had been close to 40 years since we all sat down and played cards. Thanks Jack and we will be back.
We really enjoyed out stay at the cabin during our recent sisters get away.
The cabin was all it was advertised to be, it was clean, the owner was very helpful and the landscape was beautiful.
Quite and peaceful area. Great get away.
Also there is a Geocache close by. Joronda
