Guestbook comments from the owner
We were thrilled to find everything the photographs promised--and more, beginning with homemade brownies upon our arrival, absolutely spotless cottage, and a kitchen equipped with everything we could imagine. The cottage is right on the ocean, complete with spectacular sights and sounds. The waves and the gulls and the scent of salt air were just enchanting. There were enough activities for our family of four to fill a week, even with our eclectic tastes. There is hiking, kayaking, cruises from New Harbor (We loved Monhegan Island!), day trips to the more touristy Boothbay Harbor or antique shopping in Wiscasset, crabbing, and adequate golfing at a nearby 9-hole course. Our hosts provided a book with suggestions for restaurants and recreation, all of which lived up to our hopes and expectations. We simply loved it! - written by family from NY state

We are two active professionals, failures at retirement, attempting to spend as much time as possible in our beloved New Harbor. Marilyn is a musician and has an active piano teaching studio (thus 'Suite') and John is a retired manufacturer of specialty food seasonings and spices (thus 'Thyme'). Now you know why we call our cottage 'Suite Thyme!'
We discovered New Harbor 38 years ago while on a camping trip to Boothbay. We immediately packed up our gear and moved to a campground in New Harbor. We returned year after year, first camping, then renting cottages, then, finally having our own home. Even after all these years we still marvel at the beauty of New Harbor and still enjoy its fabulous amenities and friendly locals. We constantly meet more and more folks who have had similar experiences. After having explored so much of the Maine coast, we just knew we had stumbled into a very special place. To us there is no more pleasant location on earth. Our view is breathtaking. Fabulous restaurants, galleries, beaches; attractions of many types abound.
Immense natural beauty, lobsters right off the boat, ever changing surf. Easterly view of islands, working lobstermen, and awesome sunrises make it hard to leave! We find it difficult to tear ourselves away from the property, but with so many attractions and distractions so nearby, we often do just that!
