Carriage House Cottage with 210 feet of private bold ocean frontage; located in New Harbor, one of Maine's most picturesque fishing villages and desirable vacation spots. Off the beaten path on a private road of exclusive homes. Spectacular views of islands, lighthouses, and lobstermen hauling their catch just yards from your private deck. Newly built in 2007; equipped and comfortably furnished; washer and dryer, WiFi, cable TV, DVD, phone, gas log heat.

Watch shore birds and an occasional seal feeding and frolicking in the crashing surf just yards away. Hike the rocks from private access path; walk to village, shops, galleries, and working harbor. Harborside dining; lovely sandy beach, Pemaquid Lighthouse, historic sites, Monhegan ferry, sightseeing boats nearby. An artist's and photographer's Paradise! July and August are high season, but don't overlook the serene beauty of spring and fall when attractions are open and the scenery is fabulous.

By the way, Marilyn is a musician (thus, Suite) and John is a retired spice and seasoning manufacturer (thus, Thyme). Welcome to Suite Thyme Carriage House!

About Marilyn and John

We are two active professionals, failures at retirement, attempting to spend as much time as possible in our beloved New Harbor. Marilyn is a musician and has an active piano teaching studio (thus 'Suite') and John is a retired manufacturer of specialty food seasonings and spices (thus 'Thyme'). Now you know why we call our cottage 'Suite Thyme!'

Why Marilyn and John chose New Harbor

We discovered New Harbor 38 years ago while on a camping trip to Boothbay. We immediately packed up our gear and moved to a campground in New Harbor. We returned year after year, first camping, then renting cottages. Even after all these years we still marvel at the beauty of New Harbor and still enjoy its fabulous amenities and friendly locals. We constantly meet more and more folks who have had the same experience. After having explored so much of the Maine coast, we just knew we had stumbled into a very special place. To us there is no more pleasant place on earth. Our view is breathtaking. Fabulous restaurants, galleries, beaches; attractions of many types abound.

What makes this cottage unique

Immense natural beauty, lobsters right off the boat, ever changing surf. We find it difficult to tear ourselves away from the property, but with attractions and distractions galore we often do just that!

The lobster fishing village of New Harbor is located near the tip of the Pemaquid Peninsula. Local shopping, galleries, historic sites, and one of Maine's best sandy beaches all within walking distance. Our lighthouse, featured on the Maine quarter coin, is world famous.

A fifteen minute drive to Damariscotta will bring you to a lovely, quaint riverside village with many shops, restaurants, cultural activities, movie theater, and a modern hospital. Camden, Rockland, Augusta, and Boothbay Harbor (don't miss the fabulous new botanical garden!) are all within an hour's drive.

Other Activities: Sandy beach with children's programs and facilities, state parks.

Beautiful cottage; beautiful views, without a doubt, the nicest place we have EVER rented. Marilyn and John have thought of EVERYTHING---all the comforts of home.
Close to the Pemaquid Lighthouse, the quaint town of Damariscotta, and the freshest lobster from Shaw's Lobster wharf---just around the corner!
Can't wait to return---very soon!!

We spent a wonderful week at this carriage house located in New Harbor, Maine. It is a cute, well-furnished, tastefully decorated, 2 bed room house, with a fantastic view of the Atlantic Ocean. We enjoyed the early morning sun rise and a late night moon rise from the deck and from the rocks, few steps away from the house.

We spent a wonderful week at the Suite Thyme, located in New Harbor, Maine. It is a cute, well furnished, tastefully set up, 2 bed room, carriage house overlooking the Atlantic. The views of the ocean are fantastic, with amazing sun rise and the moon rise. Cozy place for a great vacation!

My husband and I stayed at Suite Thyme for a week's vacation in late July. The carriage house is comfortable, very clean and provides everything needed for a home away from home. The views from the porch are incomparable! I lived in Maine for eight years and I can say unequivocally that the property and views are truly exceptional. The owners are very accommodating, providing us with our own laundry facilities and a grill; not something to be taken for granted as many rentals don't have such options. We enjoyed a lovely, relaxing week at Suite Thyme!

An excellent place for a vacation in Maine. The cottage has all the needed amenities and is very clean and comfortable. The view from the deck is amazing a great place for morning coffee and evening drinks. The New Harbor area is fun to explore with many activities and great food.
