PROVENÇAL COUNTRY VILLA WITH POOL AND TENNIS COURT

Lourmarin Villa Rental Photos and Description

Villa, 3 Bedrooms + Office, 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

La Jassine is a Provençal-style villa nestled at the base of the Luberon Mountain range in the Luberon Regional Nature Park. The property is set among the vineyards, olive groves, and fruit orchards of the countryside between the charming villages of Lourmarin and Vaugines.

La Jassine is a private, fully furnished, 3 bedroom villa with outstanding views of the Luberon Mountains and spectacular sunsets. La Jassine offers Provençal country living at its finest. Savour the tranquility of Provence in the teak lounges around the deck of the swimming pool, enjoy a game of tennis on the full-sized tennis court or simply relax in the hammock stretched between the oak trees. There is a field of cherry trees in front of La Jassine and an orchard of 30 fruit and olive trees on the one-acre property.

Interior Description

The kitchen of La Jassine is Provençal-style, with rustic oak cabinets, a terracotta countertop and a typical beamed ceiling. From the large kitchen window, there is a spectacular view of the mountains. The kitchen is fully equipped for aspiring chefs. The focal point of the open concept living/dining area is a typical Provençal fireplace with a high efficiency wood insert. French doors lead directly out onto the terrace. There is a TV with satellite receiver and a multitude of international channels, as well as DVD and VCR. The master bedroom features a teak bed with lovely Chinese headboard and large windows on two walls, offering views of the terrace and pool. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and the third bedroom has a double bed with a view of the tennis court. The airy, bright bathroom features a long vanity with 2 sinks and a beautiful tub with hand shower. There is also a separate shower room with sink.

From the living room, a magnificent sandstone staircase leads to the large, second- floor office/library. A huge, sliding picture window offers a breathtaking view of the Luberon Mountains. An antique desk in front of the window provides a wonderful place to enjoy the landscape while you catch up on your correspondence or begin working on that book you have always wanted to write. There is also a double bed, a couch, and a single daybed at one end of the large office area. There are English and French books, guide books, toys, games, and a Foosball/Baby Foot.

Exterior Description

A doorway leads from the second floor onto a terrace at the front of the villa that overlooks the Luberon Mountains. It is the ideal spot for watching the sunset while enjoying the local wine or for spectacular stargazing. The sheltered, southern exposure terrace off the living/dining room behind the house is the perfect place for breakfast or a romantic dinner. From the terrace, a few steps lead up to the pool and deck, bordered by a small garden. The full size tennis court overlooks the Luberon. A private road leads past the cherry orchard to this unique property, which enjoys complete privacy. In this beautiful country setting, you will enjoy the extraordinary light and colour of Provence that inspired Van Gogh and Cézanne. The distinctive sound of the cicadas (cigales) and the intoxicating perfumes of wild herbs will delight your senses.

The villa is located in a flourishing cultural region that offers a wide range of festivals. The sightseeing possibilities are endless, including the nearby castles of Lourmarin and Ansouis. The village of Lourmarin has been named one of France’s most beautiful villages. The villa is close to many fine restaurants, including the acclaimed Auberge La Fenière and the Moulin de Lourmarin.

La Jassine is a peaceful retreat with breathtaking natural beauty in the heart of Provence, where fine restaurants, fascinating historical sites, and outstanding entertainment are easily accessible. Your stay at La Jassine may be your most memorable vacations ever.

Rated :4 of 5 Stars. A WONDERFUL BASE TO EXPLORE THE LUBERON!

We stayed at La Jassine for a week at the end of September. The house is well equipped, comfortable and has the added bonus of both a swimming pool and tennis court. La Jassine is just outside the picturesque town of Lourmarin which can be reached in minutes by car or for the more active, you can easily walk the couple of kilometers into town from a path at the end of the property. As La Jassine is outside of an urban area I thoroughly enjoyed the tranquil setting and views of the Luberon mountains.

Rated: 5 of 5 Stars. BEAUTIFUL PEACEFUL, PRIVATE, CHARMING SETTING AND CHARMING HOME ND CLOSE PROXI!

La Jassine is well-outfitted and comfortable located in a lovely private, quiet setting surrounded by vinyards and orchards. The Luberon mountains and hiking trails begin at the foot of the driveway, and there are fabulous cycling routes in all directions. There are at least four charming, historic and vibrant French villages within 2-5 km. A little piece of paradise. Enjoy!

Rated:5 of 5 Stars FABULOUS VILLA IN THE HEART OF PROVENCE

This villa is a home away from home and unlike many French rentals, is spacious and well equipped. We also found it clean as well as convent le located for daily trips to explore the quaint hill towns of Provence and local villages. We will certainly return one day.

A lovely home in the Luberon

 • 5 of 5
We stayed here with a couple of friends for ten wonderful days. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. We walked into Lourmarin for our baquette only once. It was for us a 40 minute walk both ways, but every morning the fresh bread and croissants were wonderful. We hiked a lot of the very well marked trails and explored many of the towns and villages, all of which have markets on diffeent days. We fell in love with Provence when we lived there for a year and come back as often as we can. We would love to come back to La Jassine sometime, maybe when the Lavender is blooming, every day more blossoms were appearing on the trees and the countryside is absolutely beautiful. We had a mistral for a couple of days but lit a fire inthe fireplace and were quie cosy. Paul and Sandra have a piece of heaven here, lucky them.
We hope we will return someday, and in the meantime cant recommend this place highly enough.

Christmas holidays 2014

 • 5 of 5
The description is fully compliant with the house. The property is clean and well-maintained, the owner very helpful in providing each kind of information. Our three children loved the tennis court and the countryside around. Lourmarin is a very nice village within walking distance, full of delicious bar, restaurants and markets.

Wonderful Area In The South Of France

 • 5 of 5
Our family stayed at La Jassine in November. It was beautiful. The house was great, very Provençal. The weather was surprisingly warm and we had a wonderful time. The view of the Luberon mountains is spectacular. We loved Lourmarin and we had a great day trip to Arles. We really liked the fireplace. While November was nice, we can only imagine how nice it would be in the summer months. We are definitely coming back.

Charming and exquisite country house with beautiful orchard in the Luberon

 • 5 of 5
This is a beautiful country house completely in Provencal style, lots of light and open doors leading to a big and lush garden. Also situated next to the house is a big orchard, and it is surrounded by forrest which makes the place very tranquil and quiet.
The interior is very carefully and tastefully arranged, we enjoyed a lot the open chimney which makes an evening very cosy.
Sandra & Paul are very helpful and provided us with on line help to get internet started and lots of tips regarding the local gastronomy.
The surrounding countryside is beautiful, we loved a lot the Luberon mountains and did a lot of hiking. Ver y close to Aix, a lot of small villages with everyone its own local market, and Arles and St. Remy where van Gogh stayed for 3 years and produced all his wonderful work full of colour and light.

Wonderful week in a beautiful location

 • 5 of 5
We had an amazing week at La Jassine. We had spent two years living there many years previous and had loved it, and our return visit certainly matched our memories. The setting is idyllic: the house is quiet and private, with a stunning view of the Luberon mountains, but close to charming villages with bustling markets and cafes, excellent restaurants, historic ruins and rustic hikes. The house has a spacious living area that opens out onto a beautiful terrace, perfect for leisurely market-fresh meals. The rooms are well-appointed, the pool is great for a post-hike dip and the tennis court looks out to the same view of the mountains. We had a really lovely week and hope to return again sometime!

Piscine à l'ombre en septembre donc froide

Piscine à l'ombre en septembre donc froide
 • 1 of 5

Owner's Response: Unfortunately, these guests did not have good weather for their stay. It was unseasonably cool, there was a severe storm, and they had a strong Mistral wind. The pool temperature is obviously dependent upon the weather and, unfortunately, we have no control over that. However, the use of the pool cover makes a significant difference in water temperature during the off-season. The guests who stayed immediately afterward enjoyed typical sunny Provençal skies and temperatures of 26 degrees. While the toilet is often in a separate room in French houses, our villa has a bathroom consisting of a toilet, bathtub and double sinks as is customary in most countries. However, there is also a separate shower room with sink. There is matching dinnerware for 8 as well as additional dinnerware to accommodate larger groups. 6-8 is the ideal number of guests to enjoy La Jassine. We will nonetheless purchase matching dinnerware to accommodate larger groups. When these guests contacted us, we immediately contacted our cleaning lady who immediately went to address their concerns. These included an adjustment of the head of the hand shower hose in the bathtub, cleaning the kettle, and removing crumbs from the toaster. We have indicated to our cleaning lady that our goal is to exceed expectations and to do whatever is necessary, however trivial the demands, to ensure that all our guests enjoy a memorable holiday in Provence. We have had our villa in Provence since 1989 and well over 100 families have had a very enjoyable time at La Jassine. Two different families have returned for a second long term 10-month stay. In the last week, we have had a reservation from guests who stayed at La Jassine last year for 2 months (March and April) and will return next spring for 3 weeks. As we mentioned, our goal is to exceed expectations and to ensure a wonderful holiday in Provence for all our guests, as we have been doing since 1989.
