Nearby shopping, restaurants, mini golf, etc. Walk out to patio and large (1/4 acre) yard. Short walk to Aunt Carries or Iggy's for clam cakes & chowder, Charlie O's restaurant /pub or The Spain for fine dining!!!

Newport, Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun are all within one hour away!

***If you need just a little more space, we have an efficiency available on the property with a queen size bed, and futon sofa bed. Great for grandparents who want to be with the family, but have a place to go when they get tired before the kids and grand-children !

Family Vacation

Nice house and area. Unfortunately due to the cottage on the property being in such close proximity and their patio being adjacent to the fenced in backyard, it prevented us to use the backyard while the people who were renting the cottage were outside. We had a small patio for our use but with 10 people the children had no playing area, except in the front of house. Would be fine if multiple families were renting together both house and cottage. There is only room for parking in the driveway for 2 cars, and the cottage also had 2 cars in the same driveway. You had to park around the corner off the main street if you had additional cars. Some appliances were not properly working.

Owner's Response: The renters seemed like very nice people, but I have to disagree with several of their comments.
1. The back yard is 30' x 60' of grass, and the cottage and house guests have used it together for the six years that I have been doing rentals, with very minimal issues. It is stated that the cottage is on the same property as the main house in my advertising for both properties, and I also suggest that this fact is a great situation for family and grandparent rentals due to their proximity. (grandparents can get away when they get tired.)
2. Their statement about only room for two cars is not accurate. The driveway has been used for four cars very frequently without issues. Also, the cottage driveway is a separate and well marked driveway which also holds two cars. (House driveway is 4 car paved, and cottage is 2 car crushed stone.) As for the "parking around the corner", that is 3 additional parking spaces, on our property, just on the other side of our side fence.
3. The reference to "some appliances not working", is not fair. Our refrigerator, dishwasher, washer, dryer are all two years old, the glass top range works excellently, and we just installed a brand new wall oven in May. The renters had a problem with the safety mechanism on a 6 week old coffee pot, and rather than call my manager to be instructed, they assumed it was broken and ran out and bought another. The other problem they had with an "appliance", is when they tried to start the 52,000 BTU grill. They apparently had opened too many burners before lighting, which causes the new regulators on grills to think that there is a gas leak, and they will not light. My manager and her husband responded immediately to there call, and lit the grill for them, as well as instructed them. It was not until the end of the week that the renter informed us that they couldn't get it to run again. (Both items had been used all summer before these renters arrived, and after they left without further incidents or complaints.)

We have been doing very successful rentals for 6 years, and we try very hard to keep things clean and updated, and supply everything from paper goods, to beach chairs, all linens, towels, beach towels, and even little tykes wagon for family walks with little ones. We just had the entire inside of the beach house painted in May, 2013.
We take pride in our two rental properties, and I would suggest that this review might be tempered by the facts that we presented.

Close to shopping, mini-golf, fine and casual dining. Walking distance to Aunt Carrie's clam cakes & chowder!

Less than 1 mile to Newport, Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun casinos!!
