My husband, a former motorcross and supercross competitor, and I love saving and restoring old homes. We are real estate agents, investors, remodelers and for fun we like 'looking for the next project'. Every now and then we'll pack an overnight bag and spend a long weekend at The Merlot House and enjoy everything that Grapevine has to offer. Sharing our home with others has given us the opportunity to meet some great people and make new friends.
We enjoy all of the festivals and special events in the area especially at Christmas time. In the summer we spend a lot of time time on Lake Grapevine so the location works well for us. We love the real small town feel Grapevine has to offer.
Just a short note to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your beautiful home Everything was wonderful and the house is equipped with more than what we expected! I will definitely recommend your house to my friends and if we come back to Grapevine we will definitely come stay again! It was a great location with plenty of privacy and we felt right at home from the start. Sorry for taking so long to send this note. Thanks again for having us and I hope someday to come back and meet you!
Have a great day and a great 2011!!

Myself and two friends stayed here and loved it! It looked exactly as the pictures showed and is in a great, easy location. None of us had stayed in the Dallas area before and although it's further out from the city, we loved the Grapevine area and the location of this rental. Plenty of shops and restaurants just minutes away...almost within walking distance but we drove everywhere anyway.
The house itself was very clean and had everything we needed. We had a busy weekend so we didn't spend too much time in the house, but it was very comfortable and the beds were great too. It also rained all weekend so we weren't able to take advantage of any of the outdoor space, but the yard would be great for kids to run around in and the patio area was cute as well.
The owners were great with the communication too. Highly recommend!!
Our family shared the Merlot House for our niece's New Year's Eve wedding. The house was clean, very comfortable beds, all essentials listed and decorated for Christmas! Main St. Grapevine is very tastefully (and heavily) decorated for Christmas and lights everywhere.
It was convenient for us to walk to get meals and enjoy the local businesses. We had access to the internet and Direct tv, and if it were warmer would have made a fire in the chiminea or BBQ'd. The kitchen was perfect for our stay and laundry on the premises also. I liked the spacious, simplistic layout, it made our stay enjoyable. The yard is fenced and would be perfect for our small poodles too join us, but I'm not sure if they would allow pets. We have family nearby, so I'm positive we will return. Well done Merlot House!
The Merlot House was the perfect place to stay for my sister's wedding weekend. We (myself, fiancé and 2 kids- & 10) stayed with my parents and it was perfect! So much more comfortable and spacious than a hotel. Having a full kitchen was great so we didn't have to eat all our meals out. We used the house as the location for the bridal party to get ready and it was perfect, plenty of room for all the hair and makeup and breakfast too! Thanks for such a great place!
We had a great time at the Merlot House. It is spacious, clean and well up kept. The only thing we would add is a few more blankets in the house as it was cold this weekend and we needed a extra blankets on the beds. Thanks! I am sure we will be using you again.
Came to town for a creative conference at the Palace Theater in Grapevine and thought staying in a house rather than a hotel might provide some nice conveniences. We were right! With 6 women, there was more than enough space for everyone to not feel cramped and to get a good night's rest.
The location was unbelievably convenient only 5 minutes from the airport and the downtown Main Street area. If you were so inclined, you could walk. There was plenty of parking for multiple vehicles, a keyless entry in case your group wants to split up and plenty of kitchenware should you want to stay in.
I would highly recommend a stay at the Merlot House to anyone visiting Grapevine!
GIRLS TRIP for 5.....Central Tx teachers had a great get-a-way to Grapevine for 2 nights. I found this cute, comfy house by googling "Girl's Trip" suggestions and saw that other groups had rented this house for a gathering of friends.
House was easy to find once we got to Grapevine, parking was enough for 3 cars, entry was easy and we found a cute, comfy home to relax and reconnect with friends. When we got there, the air was on, ceiling fans in each room made for a comfortable setting on a HOT August day. Furnishings were very unique and bathrooms were very roomy and loved the fluffy white towels. Each bedroom was perfect and the beds were made for a queen... Kitchen was very modern and had most anything you needed although we only used the oven and fridge.
Welcome book on ottoman was very helpful, including maps and suggestions of where to eat. We felt safe in the nice neighborhood and it was a very quite street. Do be aware that you are very close to the airport (which can be a good thing) but we did hear those 'jet engines' doing their mag checks as my husband said. LOL...he's a pilot and I'm a former FA so it was not a problem. Unless you know that sound, you might think it's just the weather.
The keyless entry was nice.
This would be a great place for a family too as we noticed a pack n play in the closet and the yard out back would be good in cooler weather. There is a small sitting/grilling area on the side out back. We did not use this as it was a VACATION and we treated ourselves to eating out. Even ordered in one night by using Roseanne's book for suggestons. Enjoyed sitting at the antique dining table for 4.
There is a TV /DVD and internet service there too. Internet was working great.
Communication with the owners was a breeze and I would recommend this VRBO to anyone.
Thanks for such a fun trip. Look forward to staying at another one of your properties.
