Pristine Islamorada canal front home with 70' of concrete dock and fish cleaning station. Located on Mile Marker 73.5 bayside in the peaceful Tollgate Shores subdivision, it is near Anne's beach, across the highway from Caloosa Cove Resort & Marina, and 1/2 block from the bike path. Drive 1 1/2 hours to Key West (over the 7 mile bridge) for a day of shopping and fun or drive 1 1/2 hours to Miami. It is located right in the middle of the keys in one of the prettiest areas of Lower Matecumbe Key with quick access to the ocean through Channels 2 and Channels 5 and minutes away from the best tarpon and bone fishing.

The Keys are a 106 miles chain of islands bordered by the Atlantic ocean on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. Driving the length of the keys means traveling over 42 bridges, including the longest bridge in the U.S., the Seven Mile Bridge. The main road, The Overseas Highway, is marked by mile markers, starting with Key West at MM1. Our house is in MM 73.5, exactly 1 1/2 hours from Miami or 1 1/2 hours from Key West. The atmosphere throughout the Keys is relaxed and casual. No need to dress up even for the best restaurants in town. Islamorada is known as the sports fishing capital of the world. Here you can experience the finest fishing, diving, and snorkeling as well as the freshest seafood and the best Piña Coladas

You can ride 4 miles north and have breakfast at Robbie's, then buy a bucket of fish and feed the tarpon at their dock. Tiki hut (with hammock) by the canal offers a shaded place to relax. TVs in master and guest bedrooms.

Restaurants: Islamorada has some of the best seafood restaurants in the Florida Keys: Pierre's, Morada Bay, Islamorada Fish Co., Island Grille, Lazy Days, Ziggie's and Mad Dog's, Uncle's, and many others.

Shopping: Islamorada has many boutiques and small charming shops. Wide World of Sports, also in Islamorada, has some of the best outdoor clothing and fishing equipment in the area. They also have a life-size aquarium and a replica of Hemingway's boat inside the store. It is a must see.

Sports: For the active vacationers, Islamorada offers many activities: Snorkeling, fishing, water skiing. You can rent a boat, Kayaks, or even swim with the dolphins. If you bring your own boat, Sea Bird Marina on MM 69.5 (4 miles to the south) has a good boat ramp.

Golf: Sombrero Country Club in Marathon has a wonderful golf course. It has reciprocal membership with many country clubs in the nation.

Just wanted to tell you how very much we enjoyed our stay at your rental. The layout of the home is very spacious and yet so very cozy. It really was so relaxing and fun staying there. The pictures on your website are great but it is much better in person to see. It is immaculately decorated and furnished. The down stairs suite was a great little hideaway also. My children enjoyed fishing in the canal. They caught a baby shark and other fish. I enjoyed relaxing in the hammock and sitting out on the patio grilling out. A wonderful central location in the keys. Just a quick drive to great restaurants and state parks and beaches. Hope to stay again next year. Highly recommend this place to all family and friends.

We truely enjoyed Tarpon Cove, The home is in a very convienent location. We were easily able to get to dives in Key Largo and fishing charters in Marathon. The house is neat, clean and very nicely appointed. The owner is easy to work with and extremely helpful. Her "guide book" for the house was very informative and a great source for everything to restaurants to boat rentals. We had a great week at Tarpon Cove.

Great quiet place for Christmas break

our family had a much needed peaceful time at Tarpon Cove over the Christmas break. House is exceptionally clean. the uncluttered decor & new furnishings adds to the ambiance to relax and enjoy.
the owner, sylvia, is wonderful & responsive. she's also great with recommendations of things to do and see in the area with her helpful binder at the house.
we hardly cooked since there's a lot of great places to eat... and besides, the cook's on break too! :-D. the mackerel we caught was simply delicious though over the grill.
we only wished there are quicker ways to go from key to key other than the single lane highway.... speedboat taxis would be fun and exciting :-D though don't believe there's such services.

A wonderful vacation

Oh my gosh, I can't begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our vacation and being able to stay at this house as a central location in the Keys. We vacationed with our adult children and their spouses and EVERYTHING was perfect. It was so nice to be in a home setting as opposed to a resort or hotel. The house and grounds are very roomy, clean and very well kept. We stayed up late playing cards and laughing every night, were able to eat breakfast and pack lunches when we needed to. We even cooked up the fish on the barbecue that we caught on our fishing excursion. We spent one very hot day in Key West. That was interesting. And we snorkeled out of Key Largo at Pennekamp - that was incredible!!
We all had a fantastic time and left with many wonderful memories. Sylvia, the owner, was wonderful to work with and made everything very easy for us. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a nice getaway in the Keys with a central location.
