Experience our mountain retreat we call Deer Mesa. Whether you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway, an outdoor enthusiast looking for adventure, or looking for fun for the whole family, Deer Mesa will rekindle your spirit. Nestled on 3 acres between Taos and Taos Ski Valley, the house overlooks the Valdez Valley and the Sangre de Christo mountains. Two decks off the house, allows for individual private time to read, write or paint or for gatherings with the whole family. Sit in our hot tub overlooking the valley or stare into the most star lit sky in the Southwest. The house has a full kitchen for cooking, and a large dining table for 8. (2) TV’s along with (2) DVD players and over 100 movies to select from. There is a back mudroom with card table and extra frig for more beverages, Wash. Dryer. 3 bedrooms down, 1 bedroom up with loft. Hiking from house is amazing. Ski in the winter. Golf, whitewater, or horseback in the summer. Come see stars of all kinds in Taos, N.M.!

The town of Taos is a beautifully historical old town that offers art galleries, great food, live music, and the native Taos Pueblo Indians (inhabited since 1200 A. D. ) . There is great skiing in the Southern Rocky Mountains at Taos Ski Valley, Red River, and Angel Fire. White water rafting in the Rio Grande Gorge from April thru June is a must and you can go horseback riding, mountain biking, hot air ballooning, camping, and fishing nearly year around. If you love to play golf, you will enjoy playing Taos Country Club - a desert styled course open to the public. Taos is located only an hour North from Santa Fe - a great day trip. Taos weather is spectacular with low humidity and cool nights. The house altitude is approximately 7, 000 ft. The home is 12 minutes from the Taos ski area and the town of Taos and 2 minutes from the town of Arroyo Seco. Whether by car or motorcycle, drive the Enchanted Circle for inspirational views, photos, and unique shopping experiences.

A full shower and toilet upstairs for guests. Plenty of closet space. House also has 'mud-room' with card table, four chairs and extra refrigerator for additional beverages.

Ski Three Different Parks : Deer Mesa is located 9 miles from Taos Ski Valley. Learn more about TSV at our website. Located 38 miles from Red River ski area and 35 miles from Angel Fire. TSV is a pure skiers mountain with more intermediate runs than beginner runs. Angel Fire and Red River boast easier skiing and also allow snow boarding.

Taos Country Club: Located in the desert just South of Taos town, TCC offers incredible views and challenging holes. Open to the public.

Experience the Rio Grande Gorge: Whitewater the Rio Grande in Taos from May 1st to July. When the snow melts, it creates anywhere from a class 3 to class 4+ white water. Lower rapids offer fun and safe canoing for the whole family. Ask for information from us if you have an interest.

The house was wonderful. Very Clean. We loved sitting on the deck in the hottub at night watching the stars! Our kids loved the movie collection that was available at the house. They also loved walking around the property. We were able to enjoy big family dinners at the house.

Fun for Long Time Friends

Three retired couples stayed at Deer Mesa. We spent a week together and the most fun we've had in years! Ideal for golfing, restaurants and comraderie. We enjoyed the layed back atmosphere and solitude setting of the 3 acres the house is located. We had a good time grilling outside and using the hottub at night under exactly as described...unbelievable stars at night! We'll be back on a yearly basis. 5 Stars!!

Fantastic Getaway

The house was even better than the pictures show. We have 4 kids and we fit with room to spare. The kids had a ball. The house has everything you could need. It was very clean and in great shape. Close to all activities in Taos. Very short drive to ski valley where parking is a breeze. We want to go back in the summer.

Want to thank you for a dream vacation in your wonderful home. The home was very clean and had every thing .( toys for kids,pots, pan, dishes,) Had every thing we needed.Ski resort also shopping in town was great too.Even the weather was just right My granddaughters got to see snow for the first time.When it was time to go home my 4 year old said she did not want to go home then said i like it here. We all had a great thanksgiving 2008. We highly recommend Deer Mesa.

We really enjoyed staying at Deer Mesa!! Beatiful home!
Quiet, secluded and relaxing. The open great room and kitchen were great for our large group and the porch and hot tub with the sound of the running creek in the valley was so peaceful . Thanks for letting us stay here!
We love Michael's Kitchen, the best in town!
