Beach frontage on Cape Cod Bay! No buildings/roads between cottage and sandy beach! Recent remodeling brings together the best of the old and new! Antique wood ceilings and floors, tile floors, white walls, original art. New bath with jacuzzi tub. New window wall in LR with views to enclosed porch, sand dune and Cape Cod Bay. Water views from almost every room. Panoramic views from roof deck-see the sunsets on Cape Cod Bay. Cottage is located in a quiet area of other single family homes. Location affords adequate privacy without isolation. Nearby is the National Seashore, a freshwater swimming pond, the Cape Bicycle Rail Trail. Easy drive to restaurants, shopping and art galleries. Cottage has roof deck and a stone entrance patio. Seven rooms, three bedrooms two with a queen-size bed, and one with four single beds in the form of two bunk beds. This cottage has it all!

Cottage was updated in spring 2007. Updating included installation of a new bathroom with jetted tub, tile floor in kitchen and a window wall in living which allows views from living room through enclosed porch to views of Cape Cod landscape. Outdoors there is an enclosed shower with running hot and cold water. Located in the living room of the cottage is a glass fronted gas fire, thermostat controlled, and with heating logs which can be used if needed. Three ceiling fans and additional fans are present and again can be used as needed. The interior of the cottage is decorated to have a rustic look; that is wood ceilings and floors, bead board walls and brightly colored fabrics on beds and windows. The enclosed screened porch has both a seating area and a dining area, plus has views of the dunes and Cape Cod Bay. In addition, there is a separate smaller and more intimate dining room which seats four people and also has views of the dunes and bay.

The beach is gently sloping and usually perfect for swimming. When tides go out, the sandbars make an ideal place for walking or playing and making sand castles. Swimming is always available at a nearby town maintained scenic fresh water pond, or at the Atlantic Ocean side of Eastham.

Eastham is home to the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitors Center and miles of National Seashore Beaches located on the Atlantic Ocean. Nearby are many casual and fine restaurants as well as art galleries and shopping of all kinds. One last thing, the sunsets on Cape Cod Bay are spectacular - most people plan their away from cottage activities to not interfere with watching the sunsets!

What a dream of a place!

We spent a week in September at the cottage, one of the loveliest beach getaways we've ever had. It's an adorable place, and combines a cosy cottage atmosphere with real comfort (great beds) and a very good kitchen, plus a non-bedroom getaway room in addition to the three bedroom. And you're on your own beach! Just sand and rippling water and a series of amazing sunsets (the deck is a sunset must).

We then went to stay in East Boston the following week (check HomeAway ID 178012) so we could do some Boston sightseeing. We couldn't have done better with an expert travel agent!

A great spot

We really liked this place. It was in a really special location, with a great deck and spectacular views of the beach - especially the sunsets. The amenities in the house were fine - not super luxurious but very comfortable. The spaces are small but intelligently planned and more than adequate. The owners were pleasant, efficient, and helpful. We'd be happy to go back.

This cottage is set amongst blowing grasses with the beach just over the dune. I remember with nostalgia napping in a bedroom with the windows open and the sound of the wind, the waves and the piping voices of my grandchildren playing on the beach. Hmmm !
