Marvelous Seabrook Villa

Our family of four found the villa to be even more spacious and well appointed than what was shown in the pictures. The owner was very helpful before our visit and promptly answered any questions. The golf course view, beachy air and decor were just lovely and very relaxing. The kitchen was brand new looking, with spotless granite countertops and new appliances. The bedrooms were large and the beds comfy. We had a small problem with tiny ants in the guest room, but a call to maitenance quicklly took care of it. I did find that the cable reception was fuzzy and the cable co. did not show up to fix it while we were there.
The surrounding neighborhood is in a lovely, impecably kept, shady wooded area; an unexpected surprise for a beach front community. If you enjoy looking at spectacular homes, take a drive around the island neighborhoods. We enjoyed the beachclub pool and ocean front views it offered, and highly reccomend purchasing the amenities card in order to enjoy it. They are picky about coolers in the pool area, so pack your refreshments in a beach bag or plan on purchasing from the restaurant/bar. Parking for the club was tight, and we often had to park in the overflow lot down the road. We did walk to the beach club a couple of times, but it was a pretty hot 5-10 min treck in July. The indoor pool that comes with the villas was closed.
Don't miss Rosebank Farms, just outside the traffic circle entrance to Seabrook Island. A great place for young and old to wander amongst working gardens, a tiny museum in an old one room school house, flowers, produce, artwork, barnyard animals and even fresh seafood for sale. Go early when it is cool and spend an hour or so just wandering. Oh yes, it is free! There is also a Rosebank Farms Cafe' located at the Bohicket Marina on the island, for which we waited an hour for a table, but it was worth it for the She Crab Soup. I would drive to SC again just to eat that soup.
The Freshfields shopping area was a short drive, but provided a variety of shops and a few restaurants. The Newton Farms grocery store was a treat, with a good selection and many prepared items, a salad bar, etc. with a European feel. They also have a free wireless cafe in the store, as does the Java Java coffee shop across the road. Java Java even has computers you can use in the shop. This was a lifesaver to my teenage daughter, as there is no internet connection in the villa.
We look forward to a return visit!
