San Juan Vacation Rental townhome

Exactly as advertised. The owner, Isabel, is super friendly and always helpful. If you can't find what you need in the generous stack of guides, she encouraged us to call her with any questions. Only steps from the beach, its the perfect place to relax, enjoy the weather and come home for a nap before going into town. The place comes with everything you would need! Sunblock, towels, beach towels, soap/shampoo, a full kitchen and not far from Walgreens, you can easily get anything you might need. For those looking to do do a lot of sight seeing, a car might be helpful, however if your goal is to spend your days on the beach and then go out for some evening drinks and food, most everything is within walking distance and for the occasional trip into Old San Juan, cab fares are quite reasonable. I would not hesitate to visit again! Strongly recommended for couples or small groups of friends looking for a simple getaway without a super touristy feel.

This townhouse was just as described, and perfect for the needs of our family of 6. The house is at the end of a quiet little street, with an alleyway almost directly across from the house that leads to a wonderful sandy beach.

The house has all of the amenities that we needed for eating at home, and grilling outside, and the owner Isabel was a wonderful host, treating us like old friends. She stopped by to help us plan our PR vacation, and just made us feel at home, and was available for any requests/help that we needed.

The house was clean, nicely decorated and had eveything that we needed. We would certainly recommend this house and the area to anyone who wants a relaxing getaway, especially with young kids. The close beach was clean, not very busy, and just across the road!

We explored the Island for a week, and would love to return one day. I would recommend this as a vacation stay in PR, and we would love to return to this house again whe we travel back to Puerto Rico.

I concur with many of the comments already left: absolutely PERFECT beach location on the best stretch of beach in the San Juan area; safe, convenient, quiet residential neighborhood (you can hear the ocean from the unit); clean, comfortable, homey two-story townhouse with many helpful amenities (outdoor shower, gear for the beach, free use of washer/dryer & laundry soap, a/c, ceiling fans in every room, blender, coffee maker, hair dryer, shampoo & body soap); a mini-mart (I would not consider it a full grocery store), Walgreen’s and places to eat all within walking distance. It’s also has WiFi internet but we did not bring a device to use it. For the one day we rented a car, parking was available by the unit on the street. Isabel & Juan are wonderful hosts; you could not ask for more. Isabel even drove us to a distant grocery upon our arrival when the local grocery closed and we wanted supplies for that evening; you are NOT going to get that type of service from just anyone! She’s an angel!

Items of note: This is in a residential neighborhood so if you are calling a taxi, learn some Spanish to help direct them to the townhouse. Most dispatchers speak very little English and most taxis are not familiar with the residential areas; just the hotels & tourist areas. Having a map of the townhouse is very helpful too. A taxi ride into Old San Juan will cost you $16 for two people, one way, without tip. If you choose to rent a car, driving in Old San Juan is crazy! It’s like driving in downtown of a major US city; I compare it to Chicago, IL, but with only a maximum of two lanes for traffic (one for each direction) and lots of one lane, one way streets! And the streets are very narrow by US mainland standards, hence our decision to use taxis. Next time I may try the bus though it is not on a set schedule and the drivers do not speak English.

Also notice per the floor plan, bedroom 1 is an open, loft-style bedroom with two twin beds, and the 1 bathroom and both bedrooms are on the 2nd level. As mentioned by someone else, it is a spiral staircase with no handrails so those with problems navigating stairs should not stay here.

Otherwise, I highly recommend a stay here. You will not regret it!
