WHY STAY IN FULHAM?

Fulham is an 'inner 'burb', an upscale, safe neighbourhood just 4 miles (in straight line) from Marble Arch, close enough to enjoy the sights but far enough away for a little quiet time. In the immediate area is a huge park with River Thames-side walks, nice homes, good shops and restaurants.

.Keen WALKERS with enjoy the miles of River Thames towpath ....FOODIES will like walking to the award-winning River Cafe and great local pubs.... SHOPPERS will appreciate easy access - one bus ride - to the brand-new Westfield mall at Shepherds Bush, the biggest in Europe .... in 10 mins FOOTBALL FANS can stroll to Craven Cottage, home of Fulham Premier Division football club....and HISTORY BUFFS can tour nearby Bishops Palace, 16thc former home of the Bishop of London.

I'M ON BUSINESS AND NEED FAST COMMUNICATIONS .... Good news! We have free, fast and unlimited broadband with Wi Fi - max connection speed 76.7 Mbs, max upload speed 20Mbs.

IS IT NEAR HEATHROW? No close but a super-easy journey by Piccadilly Line tube to Hammersmith then quick bus or taxi ride to flat

NEAREST TUBE ? PUTNEY BRIDGE .. 10/12 min pleasant walk from flat .... BUS STOPS 4-8 mins walk from flat ... total door-to-door journey time to Central London 25/60 minutes depending of traffic/crowds.

INSIDE THE FLAT... high ceilings, plenty of light and original features in 900 sq ft/30 sq m. The main bedroom has a Euro king (160cm/60 ins wide) bed, large wardrobe & pretty non-working fireplace. The small bedroom has a single (90cm) bed and French doors onto a small balcony with cafe table and two chairs overlooking tennis courts and park. There is also an inflatable bed for 4th person up to 5ft 2'/158 cm. plus two big sofas.

There's a brand-new flat-screen tv and a VHS (yes, VHS!) player with tape library .

Super- high-speed WI-FI is free!

KITCHEN/DINING ROOM

Our favourite room, as big as many apartments! If you're planning a long stay, especially with kids, size really matters. Table and Conran chairs for six, a Bosch dishwasher, washing machine and dryer plus microwave etc.

CHILD-FRIENDLY ... but not CHILD-PROOF!

We have a young son who has left some toys and books for our tiniest guests... our new boiler means you wont run out of hot water at bathtime!

Well-behaved children are most welcome and of course the park provides a big attraction - but please note the flat isn't child-proofed and guests are responsible for keeping their little ones - and our property - safe from harm.

CENTRAL HEATING Yes !

SORRY - NO SMOKING OR PETS

Live like a Londoner

  • 5 of 5

Bishop Park Mansion was outstanding. It was clean, bright, spacious, and well equipped, but not cluttered, which was super nice because we could make it feel like our own while there. A few nice vases for flowers and candles added to our stay. Not only was the owner responsive to all of my questions prior to arrival and her recommendations of the area were reliable, but the local property managers were also very kind, patient and helpful.

We wanted to have easy access to the West-end but also retreat to the neighborhood life where our daughter lives to relax. This flat was perfect! We spent some days exploring London while other days we remained local and we were happy. Buses and tubes are well timed and connected so travel was easy and still in zone 2. We found delicious bistros and pubs nearby, great coffee at Tinto's, and a local "shop" for emergency last-minute supplies, with good basic shopping to be found on the Fulham Road, including a large Sainsbury's at The Fulham Road tube stop and a Whole Foods nearby. Forewarned that the place is not stocked with basics like salt, sugar, and oil, but the kitchen is wonderfully stocked otherwise with washer/dryer, dishwasher, cooking (even made chicken soup one Saturday afternoon) and plenty of gadgets cooking. The large dining room table served as both a place to entertain our local family as well as doing some teleconferencing and business work while away from the office. We loved our time in the flat as much as exploring the area and wandering around the city at large.

The bed was very comfortable and cozy and the living area was bright with morning sun and comfortable as well, stocked with good movies, games, and books. The bathroom was very adequate with a nice tub. The back and front of the flat look out into gardens so the whole place has a feeling of being in a treehouse with views of the sky as much as the trees and sweet back garden.

A local "must see" is Fulham Palace where one can have tea and walk the grounds…the whole park is wonderful for a local retreat and includes access to the river path for daily outings. We did not play tennis, but the courts were used every day by locals.

The bus drops off very nearby so easy access to the diversity of this Hammersmith/Fulham borough gives you several options to explore the life of locals from Hammersmith over to Putney and Parson's Green or a scenic trip to Sloane Square.

The flat totally met our expectations--we'll be back!

Location, location, location

We stayed for nearly 2 weeks. Great location, easy to find, close to bus and tube lines. As advertised and more. The owner and her representatives were very accessable and responded quickly to questions and concerns. The apartment is quite large by London standards, and the fully equipped kitchen was great.

A great place to stay in London that feels like home. We would recommend it to anyone.

Lovely Stay in London

  • 5 of 5

Bishop's Park Mansions met our expectations in every way with everything as described. We found the kitchen & dining area extra spacious which made our meal times very comfortable to be able to spread out.

Because the second bedroom was too small for my grand-daughter and her 4-year old, they slept in the living room on the inflatable bed. My daughter and I found our bed to be most comfortable.

Having a little boy with us. the park across the road was an added bonus, as were the toys and dvds in the flat. The Thames path is within a stone's throw for some very pleasant walks. We had some yummy meals in the local Italian restaurant - highly recommended!! The neighborhood was safe for walking around at night. Buses were plentiful to take you into central London.

The very pleasant manager was always helpful in taking care of our needs. All in all, our three-week stay was most enjoyable which we hope may be repeated at a future date. Thank you so much for such a lovely flat.

Great Time in London

  • 5 of 5

It was our first time in London and were very pleased with the size of the apartment. There were four adults (me, my husband, my daughter and my mom). Mom had her own room and my daughter slept in the living room. She found the sofa comfortable and we didn't even use the inflatable bed. The apartment was fully equipped and we were able to cook a few dinners in the large kitchen.

It's in a lovely neighbourhood and we were glad to explore the area a bit. We did spend most of the time away from the area, as we were there for the sightseeing. We quickly mastered the tube and were able to get wherever we wanted to go. Also a great location for getting back to the airport using the bus and the tube.

Had no problem with the check in and out process. The caretaker was very friendly and helpful.

Thanks for a great stay!

A winner!

You won't be disappointed--guaranteed. This charming flat in a classic row of Edwardian 'mansion blocks' is as promised--clean, bright, modern and comfortable--and the photos an accurate reflection of its appearance. My husband and I stayed for 10 days in March and one of our adult daughters joined us for a few of them. The heating worked well (it was chilly in the evenings) and we enjoyed the lovely gas fire in the sitting room. If you like to cook, the kitchen is spacious and well equipped, and there are shops close by for anything you'll need. Walk or ride a 'Boris Bike' (London's shared bikes) along the Thames River Walk up to Hammersmith Bridge or stroll through the close-by Fulham Palace (the former home of the Bishops of London, built during the Tudors) and its gardens. A must-see. The Palace cafe has food, great coffee/tea and free wifi. And Fulham Church at the far end of Bishop's Park, by Putney Bridge, is another interesting slice of London history. For restaurants, of which there are numerous on the Fulham Road, Sapori Sardi (Sardinian) and Sukho Fine Thai are within easy walking distance and highly recommended. As for getting into central London to see the sites, you're well located for buses and the Tube. Buy an Oyster Card and you'll be all set. And if you like to play (or watch) tennis, you're a stone's throw from the courts (the owner has kindly provided rackets and balls). Or if you're football fan, you can choose between Fulham and Chelsea to watch a match. Enjoy your stay!

A beautiful 'rural' setting across from historic Bishops Park and the River Thames - but close to transport for all the sights of London. Especially good for kids - for playing in the park, and an easy bus or Tube ride to the city's geat museums .

I provide all guests with a detailed guide to the flat and surroundings before they arrive, so they can get the most out of their visit. Many guests have returned two or three times....
