Kato Paphos Vacation Rental villa: Universal Area

We stayed at the propery between 10th and 21st August. We are a family of four, two children aged 9 and 12. Thank you Annie in allowing us to share your lovely Cyprus home with us. We had a really enjoyable 11 days and the house was immaculate and so well equiped, we just felt so at home. We had hired a car which was really handy although there is a local shop for groceries and the harbour area would be walking distance if you were without transport. The airconditioning was great although it turning off every 2 hours was a little annoying during the night but this might not bother some, it was extreamly hot during our stay so we felt the need for it to be on most of the night. The owners of the property were very helpful and friendly and made our holiday as easy as possible, being very helpful with our forever changing dates(!) and allowing us to stay in the property until our flight time. The pool area was spotless and there was plenty of sunbeds etc. The area was quiet and relaxing and we would highly recommend it. Our only problem was the drain area at the front of the property, which was not emptied as frequently as it should, and caused a horrible smell when it overflowed which happened twice during our stay. The liquid pouring out was very unpleasant. This was certainly not the owners fault. We understand this to be a short term problem that we would trust would be resolved, therefore we would certainly return in the future and that says it all! We would highly recomment the waterpark with children similar ages, although expensive its a fabulous day out, and there are money off vouchers available from one of the restaurants (not sure which one, we missed out on this!). This was my first visit to Paphos and thoroughly enjoyed my holiday! We had pre booked a hire car from the company recommended and they met us at the airport, even putting our cases into the car for us. Following our directions we found the villa really easily. The villa itself was even more than we had hoped for - beautifully furnished and really clean. A lovely welcome pack was waiting for us and after we unpacked we were soon enjoying a glass of Cyprus wine as we read all the information that was provided!
The complex and the pool area was lovely and very well looked after. It was so quiet and relaxing by the pool, with plenty of umbrellas and sunloungers. A selection of small shops within walking distance were useful for bread and milk although the fruit market a bit further away left us spoilt for choice with the selection of fresh foods. The kitchen had everything we could possibly have neeeded so cooking was a pleasure.
There is so much to do and see but our favourites were the beautiful Roman mosaics close to the harbour. After marvelling at how well preserved they are and many photos later we stopped at the harbour for lunch. A bit pricey but well worth doing at least once - the food was lovely and the staff were so friendly and welcoming (Theo's). We also took a couple of coach trips to the North of the Island and they were very good value and very interesting. A trip to Lara Bay is also a must as well as driving up into the Troodos where the scenery it is just so different.
It was always a pleasure to go back to the villa after a busy day as it was so comfortable and we were even able to catch up with the news with Sky TV. There was plenty to keep us occupied in the evening as well as there was a great selection of books and DVDs (also board games had we wanted).
Our only complaint was that a week passed too quickly! We are looking forward to coming back another time but for longer. Many thanks for all the advice, information and extras that you provided; it made all the difference to our holiday!

We visisted Paphos last summer for a friends wedding and the resort, villa and service we recieved was all first class.
