The city center is Baixa where the apartment is located can offer you plenty of nice choices. It is a pedestrians only street where sea food restaurants and 'fado' is played , theatres, cinema, parks and night live. The new casino and Oceanarium ( an amazing aquarium ) are located in Expo 10 minutes by cab can be another choice. There is also a public swimming pool ( good for children also ) on our street.

You name it and its there! : Very close to transports, safe for children no traffic allowed on the street, 2 minutes from the supermarket, internet point, post office, pharmacy ... Main shopping areas 5 minuted walking from our apartment...metro / tube station of Restauradores at our door...

Walk everywhere:: Portugal is known for nice weather all year round. Lisbon can be called one of the most fortunate cities still to be explored. With warm to hot weather from March till October can be a good escape for city and leisure live. Surrounded by the Atlantic you can get to the beach in 20 minutes, transports are well organised and the country live can be as well as 20 minutes from you. Sintra is 12 km away and 20 minutes by train and so Casacais. The city center is Baixa where the apartment is located it is a quiet area at night.

Séjour extrêmement agréable dans ce grand appartement très bien situé.
L’appartement est très calme et l’agitation des restaurants le soir n’est pas perceptible une fois la fenêtre fermée.

Équipement adéquat avec disponibilité de tous les éléments de base.
Métro et épicerie et restaurants sont à proximité.

Propriétaire très agréable qui a su répondre aux questions et donner des indications précises sur le parking gratuit et endroits à visiter.

Hautement recommandable.

Our stay was very pleasant in this large apartment very well located.
The apartment is very quiet and the street noise coming from the restaurants at night is not audible once the window is close.

Apartment supply is adequate and all basic elements are available.

Metro, grocery stores and restaurants are a few steps away.

Owner was charming and available to answer questions or give precise indication on where to park for free or information on sights to visit.

Highly recommended.

Superb place in Lisbon

This spacious two bedroom apartment is centrally located in Lisbon and is in one of the liveliest streets bustling with energy all the time. Well equipped place with clean rooms and two seperate bathrooms. A well equipped kitchen (although we never used it!), washing machine and refrigerator. Open the balconies and one finds live music in to the living room. Of course closing the doors gives the required silence as well. Comfortable furnished and overall good value for money.Friendly owner.
We were three of us for the first time in Lisbon and loved it. Would choose this place anytime.

Great central location

This apartment was in an excellent location, central to all of the tourist locations in Lisbon (it's number one asset). It is on the second floor of an old building on a pedestrian only street, so you'll have to walk a block to catch a metro, taxi or bus. It's a short block to a Tourist office and a little more to the closest grocery store. Literally , 50-100 restaurants are within a three block walk. The apartment itself was clean and the furniture was modest, but functional. It does have a jute area carpet that sheds and makes the floors dusty. It had a frig, microwave, washer, and cable TV. It had two roomy bathrooms with showers - quite roomy for an old building. The owner is friendly and a phone call away. Someone upstairs did make noise during business hours, but we were doing the tourist thing during most of that time. Overall, the apartment was well worth the rental price and was as expected for a rennovated apartment in an older part of town. People with very high expectations (maid service, elevators, etc.) should find a hotel instead.

Dirty but ok location

The apartment is in the business district part of town. Very difficult to get a car to, so perfect for those who aren't renting a car. It's two flights up, and a nice spacious apartment. The layout of it is good for families--one bedroom is in the front and one in the back. The problem is that the first floor is being totally gutted and renovated and so there was loud banging beginning at 7 am and going all day. Also, there is an office above and so you can hear people rolling their chairs, walking, etc. So certainly not the quietest apartment if you're wanting to sleep a bit (or have kids that you'd want to sleep). I was impressed that it had a high chair, some toys, and some a kid movie for the DVD, but that was definitely shadowed by how dirty the place was. In literally moments my sons clothes, knees and hands (he crawls) were pitch black. The carpets and living room furniture (couch, chairs) are horribly dirty--makes you have the willies to sit on them, let alone lay on them. They need a very good cleaning and some slip covers. We ended up giving the entire apartment a good mopping but were still discouraged by the dirt. I certainly wouldn't recommend to anyone traveling with young kids bc of the noise and the dirt.
Owner's Response: Well, only now i could answer this review because i was shocked since the moment i got it. I totally remember the couple who wrote this, who i went to pick up in Rossio and helped carrying the bags. One of the things i say to guests is that if there is any problem they have to tell me imediatly, as dont live in the apartment, sometimes things are not ok and i dont know if i am not told (eg.broken coffee machine). In this case if they thougth the house was not cleanned properly, they should have told me imediatly, as i would send the cleanning company straigth away...About the apartment below...yes it was sold a week before that and renovation was beeing made...but that is something impossible to control. I guess, if they had contacted me, we would have sorted out everything...
