Great Family Spring Vacation

I can't believe that more people don't take advantage of the Rockies in the early spring. We stayed at this wonderful Radium home the first week in May, 2010. My family consists of 7 adults, one who is a student at the U of A, taking a summer course starting May 10. In order to have a family vacation this was the only time available. My husband and I really enjoyed the lower basement suite, while our kids split up the second story bedrooms. For the 3 couples and 1 single adult, the confinguration was perfect. We enjoyed taking turns cooking in the convenient kitchen and everything we needed was supplied. The large island was a perfect place to store all of our games and we managed to sit 7 people around the dining table without feeling squished and uncomfortable.
The wildlife was amazing as the mountain sheep are coming down from the mountains at this time of year. Our first morning we watched a deer in the backyard and sheep walking down the street on our first evening. Our plans were to spend lots of family time and play family games...which we did all week long. We also went to Radium hot springs a couple of times but although Fairmont isn't very far, it was the yearly maintenance week, so we did not get a chance to experience it.
I just want to remind people to bring their own beach towels for the pools as understandably, one of the house rules is to leave the house towels at the cottage. I forgot to bring extras but we were able to pick up some cheap towels in Invermere for a good price.
Pete and Monica, thank you so much for sharing your vacation home with us. To anyone who is debating about renting this lovely home, we say GO FOR IT!
