Located at Maalaea Banyans resort with pool, jacuzzi spa, and gas BBQ set in a lush tropical garden/lawn area at the ocean's edge. Gentle sandy swimming beach 150 yards away, with 5 miles of uninhabited beach available to walk . All of Maui's activities within 1 to 15 miles.

Ron was easy to work with, he provided all the paper products. The unit is older and has not been updated, but for the price, it was ok. Everything worked, the toilet flushed, the drains drained, the washer and dryer also performed. The hideaway couch needs to be cleaned, the upholstery was tacky to say the least. The five chairs in the unit although sturdy enough need to be cleaned as well. All were dirty. Even though the unit has a 180 view of the Pacific, I would not rent this unit again. The reason being is the unit is directly over the pool and spa. At times it was very noise and being right over the pool infringed on your privacy when you are on your lanai.If you do not share these these concerns, then renting it might work for you. Lastly the unit was stocked with all the basics and the managers, a husband and wife team called Darren and Sharlee were super. I had one problem with people smoking on the lanai immediately under me and it was handled promptly.
Dealt with Ron via email - booking was fast, easy and efficient. Check-in was effortless, just grabbed keys from the lockbox, parked, and we were done. View from condo is incredible and won't disappoint. Condo building is older but well-kept, has loads of parking and is convenient to everything on island. Elevator could use some repair (horrible squeaking noises!) but we used the stairs as this is on the 3rd floor.
Suite was very clean, but is a bit older and could use some cosmetic touch-ups (lots of paint scuffs, worn carpets and plaster dings, etc.). That said, we had lots of supplies - towels, sheets, blankets, etc. - lots of spices and condiments were left for us to use, and the beach mats and chairs were appreciated. We never did find the boogie board, though. More paper towels / toilet paper would have been nice - we bought our own as we ran out after the 2nd day. Loved the in-suite washer/dryer - small, but works for holiday stuff! Free calls, wifi etc. was very convenient.
Pull out couch is very saggy and not suitable for adults but is fine for young kids - our 9 year old loved it. Main bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was spotless and a bit more modern than the rest of the suite. Lanai was fantastic and we spent a lot of time out there. Suite was fairly roomy for 3 but would be a bit crowded for 4 adults.
Location is very windy but we were expecting that, having stayed nearby previously. This unit is fairly well sheltered but the bedroom did get a bit noisy with the wind. We never had to use the A/C because the cross breeze is all you need to keep the unit comfortable.
Pool and hot tub were clean and we used both a couple of times. Pool is quite small, a bit cold and had several broken / missing tiles which made us a bit nervous about getting cut on them. Small sandy beach is great for beachcombing, although not the best location for swimming, but sugar beach further down was fine.
This is a great spot to stay if you want a home base from which to explore both Lahaina / Kanaapali and Kihei / Wailea beaches. Shops etc. are within walking distance (not much selection for groceries etc., better off going to Kihei for anything like that). Would absolutely stay here again, great value for the budget traveler, and unless you're spending a lot of time in your suite, the decor isn't really all that much of a concern and would be an easy fix for what is excellent value for an oceanfront condo.
Ron was great to work with and even called when we arrived to answer any questions and give us restaurant recommendations. The condo was very nice and well stocked with beach chairs and umbrella, a cooler, sunscreen, plenty of pots, pans, and utensils, etc. Best of all, it is one of the few condos with Wi-Fi! We loved the lanai with a great view of the ocean (the mirrors on either side gave us an even wider view from the living room too). The bed was great with wonderful Egyptian cotton sheets. Sugar beach is a short walk down the street and a lovely well-kept secret. Maalaea is a great central location for easy access to all parts of the island. A wonderful place to stay and enjoy a relaxing vacation!
This 1 bd 1 bath unit exceeded our expectatons, and was a perfect unit for ourselves, and 2 young kids...who greatly enjoyed the pool, while we enjoyed the poolside spa, and lounge chairs.
And the sofa bed was fine for kids., while our queen bed was of top quality--pillow top, yet very supportive.
Amazingly there was nothing lacking in supplies...nothing to buy..it was all there---laundry detergent, dish soaps, trash bags, hair dryer, boogie boards, paper towels, TP, extra sheets & pillows, and piles of extra towels for bath & beach. Definitely turn key and nothing missing
Free calls to 50 states and a dedicated hi speed modem worked well.
Parking was always available...with trolleys provided to transport up the elevator to our unit.
