GRANDMA'S CABIN ON LAKE COEUR D'ALENE - 100' WATERFRONT

Harrison House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms / 2 Bath Home with optional Custom Studio

Located on the beautiful shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene, just north of Harlow Point and historic Harrison, Idaho. This home sits on one full acre with two hundred feet of private waterfront, which makes it the perfect location for your family getaway.

Bring your family and friends and relax where you can swim, bike or hike right out the back door. We invite you and your friends to enjoy this beautiful location with panoramic views of Lake Coeur d’ Alene. You’ll enjoy having your own private beach, fire pit and swimming area. Bring your own boat to moor at the dock, or rent one of our boats (make reservations well in advance). My Grandpa has landed a couple 20lb Northern Pike at our beach, so bring your fishing poles and license/permits. You can also catch kokanee salmon and small mouth bass from the dock.

If you would like to get some exercise while touring North Idaho's most pristine river valleys, a morning spent on the Trails of the Coeur d’Alene's is a must. 70+ miles of paved trail for biking, walking, rollerblading and skateboarding, which runs follows the Coeur d'Alene river from its headwaters to the lake, and follows the lake shore south and west to Worley, Idaho (near the Coeur d'Alene Casino).

Many of Lake Coeur d'Alene's desired destinations are less than 10 minutes away by boat: Conkling Park, Harrison, Rockford Bay (Shooter's Marina) and Carlin Bay Resort. The well-known Coeur d'Alene Resort and the famous floating green are less than 30 minutes away by boat.

My family and I just spent a wonderful week at Grandma's Cabin again this year. It is the third time I've brought my family, and about the fifth time I've stayed at this rental. The private dock and water activities are definitely the best part about staying here. The Reinhardt family rents powerful pontoon boats and my wife really loves the kayaks and water trampoline. I was impressed this year when we had nine grown adults in the pontoon boat and it still pulled skiers better than the ski boat I grew up with!

The Reinhardt family is very kind and they sincerely want their guests to have a good time and enjoy the area. I love the Harrison area because it is quiet, but there is still plenty to do. We spent a lot of time playing on the private dock at Grandma's cabin, walked the bike trails in Harrison, and the kids could spend all day tubing behind the pontoon!

The house is a little bit older, but it is perfect for a lake vacation and I have seen many improvements each year that I've been there. I love the beauty of the lake and am looking forward to bringing my parents and siblings out to Grandma's Cabin next year.

Listing was described accurately, but the home needs desperate upgrading and cleaning. Bathroom was sub-par, smelled like mildew and made you feel dirty just being in it. Kitchen was poorly equipped and could be stocked nicely if the owners hit a few yard sales and occasionally sharpened the knives.
The dock was the best attraction as it is well made and had plenty of room for two boats along with electricity to plug into.
Some of the neigbors to the south were extremely rude and down right nasty. The road to cabin is single lane dirt causing much friction between neighbors and visitors so be cautious of a green Dodge truck with California plates the dude driving is ignorant and rude (neighbor to the south).

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying at our home and submitting your review and suggestions. The knives were in need of replacement so I've ordered a new set along with a new set of silverware. The rest of the kitchen is still fully-stocked for up to six adults or a family of eight. However, when more folks stay than recommended (or agreed), they may come up short on place settings.

This week, I spoke with the neighbor mentioned in this review and sorted things out with him. The issue again seemed to be related to there being more guests (and vehicles) than we allow which caused some aggravation for the neighbor when trying to make his way around the extra vehicles. Many guests find the single lane private road to be a positive feature as it dead-ends near our home and has very little vehicle traffic, and it is frequently the path of choice for whitetail deer and turkeys.

We continue to make improvements to the home and property each year including a new dock and water trampoline, new interior paint, new carpet, updated master bathroom, updated bunkhouse, new refrigerator, etc. Based on this recent feedback, remodeling the second bathroom has moved to the top of the list for this winter. Grandma's Cabin is an older home, but we make sure it is clean, comfortable and competitively priced. Many guests have returned multiple years and tell us that we have the best waterfront vacation property on Lake Coeur d'Alene for the money.

Grandma's Cabin is where we have our annual vacation with family and friends, so we have the pleasure of experiencing all that it has to offer each season. Our personal guests, as well as past vacation rental guests, have had nothing but great things to say about their vacations at Grandma's Cabin.

I absolutely can't say enough good things about this rental. We had a large group of adults and kids there for almost a week, and it was the perfect place for everyone. I especially liked how quiet and private it was, particularly during the weekdays. It had something for everyone - large yard was great for the kids, loved the covered porch for shady time in the afternoons, easy access to a great dock and lake, quick access to the bike trail. The house was perfect and had everything we could possibly need. Extra bonus was the nest of baby birds in the eaves above the porch. The house was clean and laid out well - we never felt cramped. Mike and Patty were great hosts and so helpful in every way. I would absolutely, with no reservations whatsoever, recommend this rental for anyone looking for a fun, relaxing, spectacular escape to the lake. We hope to return there on an annual basis - it was the perfect vacation spot. Heartfelt THANKS for providing such a beautiful place to escape. The extra guest house was also great, such a sweet little place.

This cabin is perfect for families. Kids in our group ranged from age 6-15 and they all had a terrific experience. The dock, swimming area, and water trampoline were perfect for kids of every age. The cabin is perfect for adults as well, with tremdous views of the lake and very good water access. The cabin is well stocked and very comfortable, plus a gas grill. The south end of the lake has less water traffic and multiple bays for exploring and playing. Evening/sunset campfires on the waterfront are awesome. The cabin also has easy acess to Harrison by road and water. Cabin also has easy access to the Trail of the Coeur d'Alene's bike trail, which is one of the best bike trails anywhere (scenic but flat, perfect for anything from a relaxing family ride to a long road bike tour). Mike and Patty are great hosts and made sure our visit was relaxing and stress-free. We brought kayaks/canoe for paddling, swim toys, fishing poles, chairs for lounging on the dock, bikes, and of course, a boat (rent one from Mike and Patty if you don't have one, it is well worth it), and this spot was perfect for all of those activities.

Our family had a wonderful vacation at Grandma's Cabin. We stayed a week. Our kids range in age from 3-16 and this property had something for everyone! The waterfront had a nice shallow area for the 3 year old to wade in and the older kids enjoyed using the paddle boat, water trampoline, swimming further out, and sunning on the dock. Loved the waterfront! We had a fantastic time with the boat that we rented and enjoyed the convenience of having it right at the dock. It was so much fun! We found after exploring Lake CDA that we really liked this end of the lake the best, so we were very pleased with this location. This side of the lake stayed sunny into the evening which was nice too.

The cabin itself had everything you could need, with plenty of space for the 6 of us, a well stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds, a nice tv, books and games (indoor and outdoor.) We also liked having the nice sunny grass yard for the kids to play on and enjoyed having meals on the covered patio with a view of the lake. Mike, Patty and Tom were so nice and we really appreciate all they did to ensure that we had a nice stay. Thank you!

Grandma's Cabin was a fabulous place to relax and enjoy all that Lake Coeur d' Alene has to offer and we highly recommend it. It got a thumbs up from everyone in the family. I hope we get to come back sometime!
