Additional activity ideas nearby may include hiking verdant forests, mountain biking, and fishing.
Winter brings a further array of fresh-air sports options, including the option to night ski on lighted Nordic tracks or cross-country ski through thousands of hectares of wooded heaven in the Kimberley Nature Park, skiing or snowboarding down the graceful runs and broad glades of the uncrowded Kimberley Alpine Resort, ice skating, dog sledding, sleigh rides, snow-shoe adventures, heli-skiing, and snowmobiling.
Ski:
3 Bears at Tall Pines rests at the base of the Kimberley Alpine Resort Ski Hill. Walk to the charming base area or drive just 1 minute by car. Keep your gear in the car inside the heated garage or rent a locker slopeside. There are 2 restaurants, ski school, and a ski rental and ski supply shop at the base. We love this ski hill! Growing up in the Northwest, we have skied every major resort in the west. In our opinion, there is no other hill as enjoyable as Kimberley. There is more than 2,500 feet of vertical from the top to base and dozens of runs spread out over a vast treed mountain. The front slope has a terrific long run. There is a children's learning center with a conveyor belt lift for tots and beginners. Immediately adjacent to the ski hill is the famous Kimberley Nordic Club with miles of cross country ski tracks, including a night-lit loop. Drop in and spend hours out in forested wilderness on various tracks and trails for only $5.00! Snow shoe the Trickle Creek Golf Course
Golf:
In addition to the Trickle Creek Golf Course which is indescribably beautiful and fun to play (just outside your front door), the pine tree lined Kimberley City Course, or the riverside Bootleg Gap Courses are just minutes from Three Bears. In Cranbrook is the esteemed St. Eugene Mission Course, Cranbrook Golf Course and several others. Head up north through the vast and scenic Columbia Valley to play at any one of a dozen championship courses in the Radium/Invermere/Fairmont area. Kimberley is a golfer's heaven. All courses are enveloped by aromatic fresh pine trees and bordered by majestic rivers and dramatic snow-capped mountain peaks.
