Come settle in and explore all the fun that Eagle Crest and central Oregon have to offer.
We have stayed in various condos in Eagle Crest for the past 5 years and it's one of our favorite vacation spots. This is the first time that we have rented a home in the desert sky area of the resort. I felt the home was average, there were some positives but I don't know if we would rent this home again.
- We enjoyed having two seperate tv areas, although the tv's were small and should probably be updated.
- My son enjoyed the dart board, ping pong table (it's not in the best condition but we still had fun playing it) and the play station.
- We enjoyed the hot tub. It wasn't working when we first got there but called the hot tub company as directed in the manual and it was promptly fixed.
- The kitchen was not well stocked. The homes we typically stay in have the basic spices, aluminum foil, Saran wrap, etc. this had none of that so we ended up having to buy more than we planned on. There was enough dishes and pots and pans just not anything else.
- The main living room downstairs was small and did not a very big dining area. There were 5 of us but there was only room for 4 at the table.
- There were not a lot of towels and the blankets on the beds felt old and worn.
We enjoyed our trip but I think the unit needs a little updating.
The layout of this house was perfect for us. The owner was easy to work with and responsive. The home is very comfortable and well maintained. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Nice views of the Cascade range from the large family/game room on the second floor (great for the kids). The hot tub was so relaxing on the cool central Oregon evenings. I am looking forward to coming back this summer - the Lakeside Sports Center complete with a pool, spray park and tennis courts is within walking distance.
We visited this home in 2012 and it was fantastic! However, this trip shocked us. Nothing had changed or been touched in 2 years. The walls were filthy. There was ONE large towel per bathroom (we had 4 people total) and it was noted on the resort info guide that if they had to deliver more linen/towels it was a $27 charge (we had to drive to the resort lodge to get more towels). The beds lacked coziness - the mattresses are hard and the blankets are old. The only pillows provided were two small pillows per bed. The ping pong table upstairs really is a hazard, not an asset to the house. It's old, unstable, and we were very nervous of our boys playing with it. The TV downstairs could use updating, it's small and from 1990. The hot tub outside is horrible. There are head rests missing and pieces coming off of the others. The carpet is in desperate need of being changed out. There was a rug under the dining room table that was also scary - it didn't really fit right under the (small) table and lifted on the carpet in lots of areas. We tripped on it daily and our youngest son actually tripped on it and hit his head on the wall behind him.
We have stayed at homes that are managed by either the owners or a management company. It just feels more "homey" that way and less institutional (that's probably a harsh word). It served the purpose for our trip but probably won't stay again unless it's updated. This is a house that was great and in fantastic shape 5 years ago but with renters coming in and out on a daily basis - things need updating and/or repaired. TLC needed on that this home that just looks like it's been lived in very rough.
I'm nervous to write such a great review in case someone books time and keeps us away!! :) What a wonderful home we enjoyed. Perfect description by the owners. We honestly can't remember a vacation that we left from, feeling literally as relaxed at the end as we did when we showed up. So comfortable and a real feeling like it's your extended home. Ping Pong!! C'mon!! Who doesn't love that? The kids had a ball playing the games in the chest upstairs, the hot tub is great to walk out the side door without having to go to the sports centers, and a perfect fit for one family or two. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us! We had such a great time a month ago.......we just booked another week for this summer! Can't Wait!!
We had such a great time at your home in Eagle Crest...wow! What a beautfiul home! Beautfiully appointed and a perfect floor plan for our family. Absolutely loved the ping pong table and the hot tub! Both were used multiple times daily. We hope to be able to rent your home again! You will notice two new PS2 games in your collection: Sonic Riders and Ape Escape 3. We picked these up cheap at a Blockbuster here in Sherwood that is going out of business. Since we don't have a PS2 at home, we thought your younger guests might enjoy these titles
Oh, and the WiFi worked great! Thank you!
The house is great and very comfortable and we love the peace and quiet. Owner is very professional in the business transaction I would not hesitate to recommend this home. Thanks Rob for another great stay.
Golf hint, try the course in Prineville (18 miles away) for great golf at a great price $25! It’s called Meadow Lakes.
