This home is located on Lake Sinissippi - 3300 acres of beauty! Guests will enjoy boating, bird watching, hiking, biking, water ski shows, fireworks, bonfires, and sunset cruises. Winter activities include ATV and snowmobile trails, ice skating, relaxing, and family get-togethers. Close proximity to Milwaukee and Madison make this an ideal base for exploring Southern Wisconsin. Also, Fall is a beautiful time of the year to see the thousands of stars!
Spend an enjoyable evening under the stars by your fire pit ! The yard is large enough to pitch a tent if you want to experience camping with all the modern conveniences a few steps away!
Annual Lake events are 'Lakefest' which is the first Saturday in July and 'Venetian Nights' end of August.
Southern Wisconsin events of note are Milwaukee's 'Summerfest' which runs from late June through early July, Oshkosh's EAA runs from July 23rd through July 29th, 2011 (hint - people come a few day's early to see the first planes come in).
Free Tour Of The Lake and Other Benefits:: Included in your stay of a week or more is a pontoon tour of the lake. The date needs to be discussed in advance of your arrival so that we may reserve the time for you. You'll see the Lakes many islands, bald eagles, and white pelicans.
If desired, we will shop for your groceries in advance of your stay. We'll send a shopping list upon request or send your own. Just fill it in and return it at least a week prior to your arrival. You can reimburse us when you check in.
If you like Grilling, there are many meat markets within a 10 mile radius and a gas or charcoal grill to make your favorites on.
Fire wood is available upon request and at a slight charge. Sit by the fire pit and enjoy the stars!
If you plan on doing a lot of exploring, we have a GPS for rent. Easy and accurate to use. You'll never get lost! We'll mark some of the local interest spots.
The 30+ mile Wild Goose bike trail is within 8 miles of the property. It runs from Hwy 60 all the way to Fond du Lac WI.
Approximate Drive Times:: Madison - 1hr 15 min, Milwaukee - 1hr, Fond du Lac - 1hr, Oshkosh - 1hr 30 min, Green Bay - 2 hrs 15 min, Wisconsin Dells - 1 hr 45 min, Chicago - 2 hrs 30 min.
Fun things to do within a 2 hour drive or less: Old World Wisconsin - Eagle, Madison Veterans Museum / Farmer Market, Milwaukee Zoo / Museum / Art Museum / Brewers Game / Horticultural Domes, Dodge County Parks and Bike Trails, Hartford Auto Museum / Schauer Center, Princeton & Jefferson Flea Markets, Amish stores & bakeries - Kingston area, Holy Hill.
In February, March and April of 2008, filming of the Johnny Depp movie 'Public Enemies' was filmed in the cities of Columbus, Beaver Dam, Milwaukee, and Oshkosh Wisconsin. All sites are within an half hour to an hour drive.
Cleaning Policy & Additional Charges:: There may be an additional $100.00 cleaning fee for guests that do not leave the premises in a reasonably clean condition. We request that guests wash all dishes and bag all garbage at the completion of their stay. Also, please strip all bedding and place it by the wash machine.
If you bring a dog or cat, you are expected to clean up after them. Also, there may be an additional charge for cleaning excessive hair or for any damage they may cause. Please wash your pet prior to arrival.
A credit card is required at check-in to cover any damages that guests or their pets may cause.
