Come and experience Northern Michigan at it's finest. Relaxation and fun start the moment you arrive at our Timberline Cottage, located on beautiful Manistee Lake, an all-sports, 860 acre lake. Manistee Lake is a shallow lake, ranging from shore line to 16 feet deep. Because it is a shallow lake, the water is warm in the summer, making it fun for children and adults to jump in and enjoy swimming, snorkeling, boating, water-skiing, tubing, etc.. Our Timberline Cottage is 'woodsy', cozy, and warm. It's knotty pine walls make it storybook-like, which is perfect up-north getaway for families, hunters, fishing fanatics, snowmobilers, skiers, snowboarders, golfers, scrapbookers, and everyone who enjoys the beautiful outdoors.

Our family spent two weeks in July 2011 at the Timberline Cottage. The accommodations were excellent. The cottage was clean, comfortable and has a nice "up-north" feeling. Manistee Lake is shallow and warm and great for swimming, skiing, jet-skiing, and fishing. Jason is nice to work with and made very effort to make our vacation memorable. We enjoyed it so much that we have made reservations for next summer.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities

dissapointed in the beach

Beautiful cottage , but no lakefront sandy swimming area. Very dissapointed in the beach? We had to go to another lake to go swimming with our kids. We were promised sandy beach and that we could walk in shallow water forever! No sand to play in, had to walk down a wall of rocks to get into water, lots of seaweed wash up, very small dock, very mucky past neighbors dock.Nice cottage but no good swimming area.
