Enjoyed our stay. Wish we could stay longer. Enjoyed seeing all the other places. Most remembreable our visit to Convention Ctr. The great sermons with Dr. David Jeremiah. Only thing needed is a Bible to confirm all the scriptures. What a man of God & so near him in this beautiful creation of his. Couldn't find one. Gone many places, but never seen as many trees, bear, & turkeys.

Mosty as described-needs better cleaning and maintainence

  • 3 of 5
The pictures and description were mostly accurate and the issues we had could have been just timing and the prior renters. The owners were nice and very helpful. They live out of state and that might be why we found the place a bit dusty and we had a problem with odors. For 3 nights we paid $100 less than the next cabin quoted and if the steep drive would have been the only issue I'd have rated them 5 star. We had the opportunity to look at other cabins that were cleaner and a little better maintained. Small issues like the screen wasn't tight so opening the windows let in the bugs...the side rail on the hot tub was on the ground and had been reattached several times, leak-roof or plumbing. Hot tub/kit kitchen clean but the bath tubs all had dead bugs and the place smelled bad when we arrived. The air was on high and after putting 2 + 2 together I think the person before us drank too much and vomited on the bed and floors. We couldn't use the ceiling fans because when we did the dust rained down in clumps. Visible spots were cleaned well but IE the stool in the bath over an uncovered vent was dusty on the bottom (piece between the legs) and when the fan was running blew dust up into the room). It was only in a few spots (the rest was clean) but enough to set off my husbands allergies. The bed was very comfortable but I couldn't figure out what the odor (strong) was until in the morning when I changed and smelled my pj's they smelled like vomit. I think because of the amount of beer cans and glasses on the lawn and in the front yard the people before us drank too much and threw up on the bed and floor). I think they changed the sheets but didn't wash the mattress pad causing odor. That or musty-appeared to have roof leak above bed. floors were a bit sticky also-looks like when they mopped they didn't get very close to the baseboards (a build up of dust indicates that). The back deck wasn't swept -debris on my feet when getting in the hot tub. We couldn't find a broom so I just didn't use it the rest of the weekend. We also couldn't all fit on the bed in the loft and my husbands allergies were bad so he took a blanket and slept on the rocker on the balcony-couch had odor so I slept with my granddaughter in the loft. Not easy for her to sleep up there when we had the TV on since it's open but we couldn't watch in the bedroom so early nights for us. The odor and lack of tv channels except in the main room (very few). Loved air hockey table/view.

Owner's Response: Interesting thing about this review is that they are claiming that the cabin wasn't clean, but the guests before them checked out about 2 - 3 hours before these guests checked in & the guests who checked out wrote a review that said the cabin was very clean. I also called the maintenance man about what they are calling a "leak." The maintenance man said that they only rain they had was just a mist & not enough to get the ground wet, so didn't understand how there was enough raing to cause the roof to "leak." He checked the cabin & couldn't find any sign of a leak. There are some steaks on the wall from when the cabin was built & they used a stain on the wood which has run down the wall in some places. I painted over most spots & restained some spots, but if you look hard enough, you can still make out the dark stain in some places under the white paint. There's also a water stain on the wood above the bed from where water would seep down when guests didn't put the shower curtain inside the tub when they took a shower. I caulked around the tub about 3 years ago & haven't had a leak since then, but the stain is still on the wood ceiling downstairs. Cleaners checked for "vomit" smell on bed & found nothing, but washed mattress cover when they changed linens any way.

Great cabin & owners

Great cabin & owners
  • 5 of 5
This was our third time staying at Day Dreamer! As always, the cabin was great! They knew it would be late when we arrived & left the light on for us! The cabin is always clean & very homey! We love the location, close to shopping but most of all close to Cade's Cove! We went every afternoon close to dark & saw bunches of turkeys & monster bucks. We love wildlife. Saw no bears this time but seems like everyone did. When we go back hopefully Day Dreamer will be available! Also, Andy & Jane are wonderful! Ann

We enjoyed the cabin and its peaceful setting. You are close to enough to go to many of the attractions with in a short drive. It was a great family vacation and our dogs had a great time also. The owner are great to work with and very friendly. We would go back again.

Owner's Response: Glad they enjoyed the cabin. We also agree that it's a great place for dogs because there isn't a lot of traffic on the road, so there's no problem with walking them along the road. The back porch of the cabin is about 15 -20 feet high & the only access is through the cabin, so dogs can enjoy being outside without fear of them running off or being attacked by other animals.

Great family Vacation

  • 4 of 5
Our family stayed for 3 nights, 4 days; over July 4 wk...We enjoyed it very much! My girls were very excited ,"because we were almost staying at the top of the mountain"! Lol beautiful views, very peaceful an oddly, even with other cabins close by, it was still private! We would recommend it to anyone staying in the Pigeon Forge area. Close to town, but yet far enough away for the peace an quiet of the mountains.

Owner's Response: Glad they enjoyed the cabin. Very nice guests & I appreciate the nice comments. Not sure how the "Star" rating system works since all comments were positive, but not a 5 Star Rating.

Beautiful and Peaceful; Great for National Park Visitors

  • 4 of 5
This cabin was just what we needed for our trip to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It has a washer/dryer and full kitchen, which was perfect for us. We try to pack light, and we rarely eat out. So we were able to buy groceries in Pigeon Forge and pack lunches for our daily hikes in the park, and then come back and cook dinner in the evenings. Having a deck with a hot tub and a view was a real plus. The road going to the cabin is not very wide and very steep, so it took some getting used to. I worried about what I would do if I met other traffic, but it wasn't a problem. Andy was very helpful and gave us some great tips; his advice on a short cut to enter the park and avoid the traffic in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg was a huge help. Reasonable and comfortable, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Owner's Response: Glad they enjoyed the stay & took the time to write such a nice review. I've been told that the ratings are done automatically based on comments, so I guess the comments about the road kept the rating from being a 5. However, I don't know of any of the cabins in the area that have views & privacy that aren't up what some people call "steep narrow roads." At all, we have to go the the views, they don't come to us.
