Absolutely beautiful home. Far enough removed from the nonsense yet connected with the daily conveniences you come to rely on. Couldn't be in a better location. No fighting the Rapid City traffic to get to the local sights as you're coming from the opposite direction, both going there & getting back.
The pictures simply don't do this home justice. The view from the bay windows in the great room can't translate onto a camera nor can the feeling of sitting on the deck on a Monday morning & hearing nothing at all in any direction.
I can't recommend this place enough. Jim is a great guy to deal with & you're getting a beautiful place at a very good price. Fighting with the hotels is madness when there's still places like this.
Large, spacious, Very clean secluded home with 3BR and 3BA and all the amenities. 20 miles from either Custer or Hot Springs. Very nice back deck. The owner was very easy to work with and prompt in his replies to your inquiries. Convenient to Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore and Chief Crazy Horses memorial.
This beautiful home is in a quiet area where you can just relax or explore as you please. The pictures don't do it justice. You will find everything at the house to make you feel at home. The "yard" is a forest waiting to be walked especially with a dog. Within an hour of the home are Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore, Prairie Wind Casino, Custer State Park, The Badlands, Hot Springs & Custer, to name a few. Custer State Park is a must to see wildlfie including over 1400 buffalo. Fishing is available at Custer State Park lakes and several other areas. Going to the house you will probably pass through Custer and may want to stop in Custer for groceries as its about 20 minutes from the house. You'll enjoyed the town of Custer with its several restaurants and buffalo statues throughout town.
Our stay was great. Jim was very attentive to our needs and quickly dealt with a household problem that came up. He is a large part of why this rental was so nice and memorable. We stayed a week but could have stayed longer to continue enjoying the beautiful area. It is great for couples, friends or families especially bringing your small dog with you. WE DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS HOME!
The photos of this rental do not do it justice. The home is very welcoming. We felt comfortable right away. The price for the stay was very reasonable. For that alone we were worried…and it just made the surprise so much nicer! The kitchen was well stocked. The bedrooms were comfortable. The owners provided so many of the necessities: even shampoo and zip lock bags!
The large windows in the main room look out on the beautiful land surrounding the property. I loved to open the blinds and just enjoy the birds and views. As in prior reviews, we saw deer and turkeys on a number of occasions. The stars on a clear night impressed this “city” girl. We even enjoyed the walks to the end of the driveway and around the property. Our dog loved exploring!
Jim was great to work with so the service was exceptional. We did have one issue that required a repair person to stop out but it was handled quickly and efficiently. We were leaving for the day and it was all taken care of when we returned.
The location was very close to Custer State Park and Wind Cave…which are perfect places to visit if you love wildlife viewing and scenic drives like we do. It was also close enough to other great attractions we took advantage of: Mount Rushmore, Reptile Gardens, caves, miniature golf, shops and nice places for dinner. We even took a drive to Spearfish / Deadwood for the day.
This is a great rental!
This was our 1st rental vs hotel rooms and I don't think we will stay in another hotel.
The description and layout of the house were just what we wanted.
It made everyone feel like they were part of all activities even while being in different rooms.
The owner was a delight to work with very prompt and polite.
The house was very clean and inviting upon our arrival.
We loved the location of the house was out but not to far away from things.
We had a deer family that would come visit at least once a day, the babies would come up to the house and eat the tall grass along the foundation and wild turkeys a great adventure for our family we never see things like that in our backyard.
The deck in the evening as the sun was setting was breath taking.
We will recommend this home to family and friends planning trips to the area.We had a good time at all of our activities.
We rented the house for 6 nights. It was ideal for us. There were three couples. The house was very nice. The two upstairs bedrooms could use ceiling fans. They were rather warm, but we left a window open at night which helped. Cell service is very sporadic. One of the couples staying with us tried to use the home computer provided, but was never able to get a signal long enough to log onto the internet. This is a great place to stay if you want to get away from everything. Wildlife is plentiful. We saw deer and wild turkeys. The owner was very helpful in providing maps and directions. Our deposit was returned promptly as promised.
