Originally built as a sea captain's home in 1835, this charming house situated on 6 acres of oceanfront property has been totally renovated. The location couldn't be better to capture the stunning views of the ocean and the mountains of Acadia National Park. You will have access to a private beach and a boat launch. The house faces Acadia, and offers spectacular views of the sunrise from the master bedroom. The downstairs has been opened up so that one room flows into the other. The large, well-equipped kitchen has an eight foot island with four bar stools, making it easy to prepare meals while socializing with family and friends. Just off the kitchen is a large deck, perfect for outdoor meals and barbecuing. Acadia with its hiking and carriage trails is less than an hour’s drive. You may also wish to explore other lovely towns along the Maine coast such as Blue Hill, Deer Isle, and Castine. Bring your bike, fishing rod, hiking boots, or a book and enjoy the spectacular Stars!

The Surry Town Beach is a sandy beach a few miles up the Newbury Neck peninsula. There are bicycle and kayak rentals nearby. Mt. Desert Island is an hour’s drive away, offering hiking trails, carriages paths for cycling or horseback riding, Cadillac Mtn., the Jordan Pond House Restaurant, and the lively town of Bar Harbor. Surry is not far from the scenic coastal towns of Blue Hill, Castine, Stonington, and Belfast, where you can enjoy antiquing, art galleries, and more. Ellsworth is a major town only 20 minutes away where you can find grocery stores, restaurants, movie theatres, and a variety of other shops.

This is how you will feel once you rent this surrealistic home which offers picturesque sunrises, ocean views and friendly people. Our third year of returning for a 4-week stay and the pictures do not do this home justice. It is impeccable inside, the owners are warm and giving, and rest and relaxation are just awaiting its alluring charm Highly recommendable.

The Perfect Vacation

The house was beautiful. We had a great week for weather too. The kids enjoyed their daily visit with the horses. The kitchen was the perfect place for all the family to hang together to reconnect. The owners thought of everything to bring the comforts of home. Something we found to be a wonderfule addition is that you are welcome to leave behind any food, drinks, condiments etc that you think future guest may use. This was a terrifec because no only did it allow us to have extra "stuff" we never thought of we also left stuff behind With a 6 hour drive, the less things we had to pack back up only meant a more comfortable ride home for the kids. We definetly will be back, just not sure if it will be next summer or the one thereafter. Again, a great time had by all. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

A Relaxing Vacation

We loved our vacation at this home. The area is extremely peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed both bike riding and kayaking, which we rented from the Lobster Shack just down the road. The owners were very easy to work with. The owner's relatives across the street were very hospitable and offered to let our children to use their swing set and other children's toys. The home is very clean and well equipped. We would definitely return.
