We have stayed at Galway Watch for several years in a row and love it. The owners are very personable and much more helpful than any real estate managers we used before. It is ideally located close the beach with the pool & tennis courts next door.
The photos provided truly reflect this gem which is normally kept well cleaned and maintained. I would highly recommend this property for most families.
When our children were very young we always stayed beach front to make it easier to get on/off the beach each day and for potty and nap breaks. It is pricier to do that but families with small children might want to consider beach front first. The Jacuzzi is great but seems to have trouble working properly a little too often. Other than that any other issues that have surfaced have been quickly repaired or taken care of by the owners.
We have concluded after going to OBX for over 20 years that dining is not why one goes to OBX. It is the beach, the quiet (north end anyway), and opportunity to relax with family. Restaurants seem to come and go frequently and rarely are they as good as ones back home. We love the Corolla area as there is shopping, putt putt, the lighthouse and the Whalehead club, but not the heavy concentration of activity (and congestion) further south even as close as Duck.
