This fully furnished home is in a peaceful field and forest setting and is charming, private, quiet. Located right at the doorstep of Acadia National Park, there are endless recreational possibilities. Mount Desert Island is truly a nature lover's paradise. A five minute walk puts you on some of the park's roads and trails, giving you access to nearby mountains and three different ponds. An ocean boat launch is only 2 miles away. Bass Harbor Lighthouse, (one of the most photographed in Maine), seafood restaurants, Bar Harbor, and the Swan's Island ferry are just a short drive. After a full day of activity, you can return for a relaxing whirlpool bath, enjoy a movie, or have a glass of wine on the deck. Fully equipped with everything you need to relax in comfort. It is a common sight to see deer, fox, and other wildlife right from the living room window or back deck while enjoying your morning coffee.

Come share a piece of Mount Desert Island. Acadia National Park is always one of the most visited parks in the country. The views are nothing short of spectacular. You will find tall pines seemingly growing out of rocks, mountains with granite cliffs, hiking trails, ponds, lakes and salt-water beaches, and ocean waves crashing in fantastic displays on our rock-bound coast. Lighthouses? You can see as many as five from Cadillac Mountain. Take in historic Bar Harbor. You can eat a pizza while watching a movie or listen to live music in the village square. There are bike rentals, sightseeing boats, whale-watching cruises, kayaking and rock climbing excursions just to mention a few of the adventures awaiting you. Lobster pounds and seafood restaurants are everywhere just in case you are interested. Not interested? How about gliding in a plane with no engine or seeing a lumberjack show with Tina from 'Survivor', or looking through the old Chicken Barn full of antiques or....

Be it a bath or shower, when you go to bed you will have a heavenly sleep with brand new quality bedding and down pillows. Privacy is guaranteed as the second and third bedrooms are at the other end of this 52 foot-long house. With their own full bath, one bedroom has a queen size bed and the other has two twins. Our Guestbook: We will be grateful for our guests that take the time and trouble to make an entry in our guest book on line. Here is the really fun part though! We plan to keep a guest book on the kitchen table. I came up with the idea of having everyone add a recipe along with their comment. Since they will have been written from memory, these recipes will be family treasures that have been used a lot! It is wonderful idea. You will be able to try things from different cultures, (Chinese tea eggs for example). I hope it will make your vacation even more memorable. I am excited about our new guest book and hope it fills up quickly! Come join in the fun.

My wife and I do a lot of traveling and I will have to say that this was a great find on my part. This place was clean,spacious, quiet and in an absolute gorgeous area! We did a lot of hiking, some kayaking, relaxing, shopping and site seeing. Maine and Acadia are beautiful. Consider renting this place. Our hosts Dawn and Larry were great!

I had stayed on this side of the Island before, but never in an area that gave me the freedom to just come and go at will, be at peace with the environment, and feel completely trusted by the owners. I rented the house to be able to hike all over the island, and being close to Seal Cove offered me the opportunity to find new trails--wonderful new trails that were great fun, like Bernard Mountain with its fern gullies and remarkable beauty. Being close to Southwest Harbor that has an excellent wine and cheese shop was good, too. The house is large enough for a family, and very well kept with all the equipment you need. My husband doesn't care to hike as much as I do, so he would stay behind and write and he found it the perfect atmosphere to do so--he finished a couple of white papers during our week stay. He is also an amateur photographer and having the house meant that he could bring all his equipment and store it in the house. I thought the house was perfect and want to rent it again! -Judi PS If you're a hiker, you must, must do the Perpendicular Trail--it's been renovated and is phenomenal!
