Best of Burlington

I am a Burlington resident that was looking for extra space to house some friends over the Thanksgiving break. While there are some fine hotels in the nearby vicinity, the ideal spot was a place where we could relax together in a more home-like environment. This loft was wonderful.
For the out-of-towners and us locals, nothing beat waking up and being right on Church Street. The marketplace is great for food, coffee, shopping, and people watching. There were plenty of cultural and outdoor activities from our base as well. We did not need to rent a car for our guests- we were able to use the bus system (stationed 2 blocks away) to an from the airport.
The loft is artistic and unique. While it is shielded well from neighbor and outside noise, in the interior sound travels easily. The loft is essentially just one big three story room without traditional ceilings above the sleeping areas. This was not a problem for our group, but depending on the relationships between guests, it may make it a bit tricky to organize people.
Being a single open space of three stories, there were distinct climates at each story- cooler at the entry level and quite warm at the top level. This worked out fine for us because we had a range of preferred sleeping temperatures in our group, but temperature could be difficult to control to someones exact liking. Also keep in mind that there are 3 flights of steps within the condo, plus a flight just to get to the condo from Church street. The style and appointments are completely worth each step for us thritysomethings, but my extended family, also in town at the same time, would have had trouble.
The loft was clean and well stocked with basic convenience items. There were plenty of kitchen items and linens. The lower 1/2 bath made some peculiar sounds when it was flushed. Despite the instructions, operating the TV/ DVD was a bit of a mystery sometimes. We were able to get free wifi from the nearby burrito place, but the condo had none of it's own.
Our favorite part of the condo was the kitchen/ dining room/ living room area which provided a wonderful hang out spot. And if it had been at all warm, the rooftop terrace would have been heavily used.
In all, the condo was a classy, private pad sitting atop a bustling pedestrian mall. It is not thrifty, but if enough people stay there it is be cheaper than two rooms at the the downtown hotels and the views and the proximity to everything are unbeatable.
