4 bedrooms, three bathrooms, sleeps 8. 4 cars maximum.

This lovely family home is located in the desirable east end of Mason's Island. There are sweeping views of Long Island Sound, Enders Island and Fisher's Island from the expansive deck. Sailboats and sea life abound. Our family uses the house during August, but rents it out in June and July and in the off season to couples, or small groups whom we feel will treat the home with respect, and(as importantly) who will respect the neighbors and the neighborhood. The house has a 'big cottage,' Ralph Lauren sensibility. Gorgeous sunrises and beautiful winds.

This house is suitable for small(emphasis on small) groups of mature guests, who are interested in a setting for reunions, special birthday occasions, etc. It is not suitable for groups of unsupervised minors. It is also not suitable for weddings, no matter the size, wedding related events or any groups more than 8.

Under NO circumstances are tents or rental tables/chairs permitted on the premises.

This is a first come, first served arrangement. Only a signed contract/ deposit guarantees the rental.

Another Perfect Weekend

We consider ourselves most fortunate! My family and I have just enjoyed another wonderful Columbus Day weekend at this beautiful home on Mason's Island. We have been to this comfortable home over the years in the late spring and early fall and have always found it to be clean, comfortable and most welcoming. It gets harder and harder to leave this picturesque spot!
As usual, we found everything clean and operational. There are places for the family to be together-the wonderful dining room table- and there are places for quiet reading and enjoying the ever changing vistas. Each and every room, from kitchen to bedrooms is spacious and attractive. The large deck can be enjoyed all day long! My sisters and I found everything that we needed in the very well equipped kitchen to prepare the meals for our family over the long weekend. Even from the kitchen you are able to enjoy the wonderful views!
Some of our family enjoyed an afternoon bike ride around Stonington and Mystic and we all enjoyed the great walks around Mason's Island and over to Ender's Island.
The only downside to our time at this perfect home and location is that we had to leave but we look forward to another chance to enjoy this beautiful home and its surroundings!

Family 4th of July

We rented the property to celebrate the 4th of July Holiday with family and we enjoyed our time outside the home. It is a picturesque property and a quiet neighborhood. The property was clean but was ready for updating. We followed directions and never set the thermostat lower than 70 degrees; however, the temperature in the house never got lower than 78 degrees. The mattresses are definitely ready for replacement we had to move a twin mattress to the master suite floor so that my wife could sleep with less pain. One of the kayaks was damaged to the point of not being seaworthy.Beach availability is limited my grandchildren had to be driven 20 minutes to play in the sand in Rhode Isand. We used the grill and had an exciting time with the grease fire, the next renters should be able to use the grill without fear now. Bottom line if you want solitude and quiet, and you have a good back, no grandchildren, and don't mind to sweat a lot in July, this is the perfect place.
Recommended for:  Age 55+
Owner's Response: The air conditioning system has been repaired, although it is an older system, meant for the very hottest of days. It was a casualty of Hurricane Irene and has taken a while to get operating efficiently again. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Relaxing Weekend Getaway

This was our second annual girls' weekend getaway at the Bradford House. We enjoyed the area walking around the neighborhood and enjoying the mild winter weather! Beautiful sunrises even though there were a few clouds this year. Nice area to get out for a run or walk into downtown Mystic by the drawbridge. The property is just as described - perfect! We will definitely be back to rejuvinate next year!

Family Gathering

This is our 2nd year renting with my mother-in-law , my brother and sister -in laws and all our kids, 11 to be exact. So many memories made each time. So much room but at the same time so cozy. We start planning the next year before we leave. Wish we found this little piece of heaven years ago.

Weekend Stay for Navy Event

This house was perfect for our family of 10. We attended a Navy graduation in Groton so the house fit our needs to a T. It was easy to find; lots of fun things to do and see in Mystic. The house was clean, well kept. All the kitchen utensils, spices and spacious kitchen made cooking a breeze. The table for 10 made it easy for us to all eat together. There was plenty of space for all of us to lounge, sleep, eat and just hang out. Watching the sun rise from the sunporch was delightful. I can't say enough good things about the house. Thank you Bradfords' for sharing this little piece of heaven in CT!
