This beautiful mountain home is centrally located in the Fraser Valley. It is luxury in a rustic mountain setting. The home is situated on a large wooded lot giving you the peace and tranquility you are looking for in a mountain getaway. Yet, the home is just minutes away from world class downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and many other mountain recreational activities. Summer activities offer hiking, mountain biking, rafting, golf, fishing, boating, as well as activities at the base of Winter Park Ski resort. Relax in your own private hot tub or have some fun playing poker on a fully equipped poker table. There is also a big screen TV in the rec room with plenty of room for all to enjoy a movie together. Sleeps 12 to 14 people comfortably. Master bedroom has a king bed, second bedroom has a queen bed, third bedroom has a queen bed, fourth bedroom has two double/twin bunks and there is a double sofa sleeper in the lower level recreation room.

Our Mountain Home is located on a private subdivision on a quiet road without any traffic. Nestled on 0.67 acres, you get tranquility and solitude. Yet we are only one mile away from the main highway running through Winter Park and Fraser. The free shuttle bus stop is 300 yards from our home. If driving, we are only a 10-15 minute drive from the Winter Park Ski Area. We are also 10 minutes away from both the Devil's Thumb Ranch Nordic Ski area and the Pole Creek Golf Course.

Kitchen Amenities: The kitchen is fully equipped to enable you to create wonderful meals for all your guests. There is a full kitchen including a full size refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and gas range and stove. We have included all the things that we find valuable in a home kitchen and have tried to have it available in our mountain home. As an example, we have included a coffee grinder alongside the coffee maker. There are also plenty of dishes and utensils for two meals so one set can be in the dishwasher while you have enough for your next meal. We have included high quality pots and pans as well as additional small appliances that you would not normally have available in a rental home. These would include a rice cooker, a crock pot, waffle maker, and even an electric griddle. We also have a nice tablecloth and cloth napkins for special occasions and meals. Creating a huge meal like a thanksgiving meal with all the fixings is not a problem at our home!

Entertainment : The home has all the entertainment amenities that you want. Both living areas feature High Definition TVs with an HD signal from Direct TV. The Direct TV Channels include premium channels like HBO and Cinemax as well as satellite radio signals for music. Both entertainment systems include home theater speaker systems. We include a collection of DVD movies that are available for you to use. Additionally, we have an X-Box entertainment system for the kids. We also have a small collection of X-Box games for use. For the adults, we have a Poker game table that we have equipped with poker chips - so no need to bring your own. Other amenities include free local and long distance as well as high speed internet with WiFi connection. You will need to bring a laptop with you to access the internet. We have an outdoor hot tub that has a heated walkway. No need to trample through ice and snow! It is so wonderful to sit in the hot tub after a day spent in the outdoors and enjoy the stars.

General Amenities: We provide plush bath towels as well as extra towels for the hot tub. We include high quality soaps and detergents as well as paper products to get you going. You may even have enough for your entire stay! We have a new large capacity front loading washer and dryer for your use. The home is heated through radiant floor heating which feels great when walking barefoot through the home on those winter days or when getting out of the shower and stepping on the warm floor tiles! We also have a heated oversized garage with plenty of room for your ski equipment and mountain bikes. The 0.67 acre lot allows for lots of room for snowball fights and for making snowmen. It also has an excellent open area for a gentle but thrilling 150 ft. sled ride. The kids seem to love spending their extra time playing outside even after a hard day of skiing. Get ready to make some wonderful memories here in Winter Park and at our beautiful mountain home!

All the Amenities of Home

My colleagues and I (all business professionals) have been making an annual ski trip to the Winter Park/Fraser area for the last 6-7 years. We usually stay at a private home in the Fraser area for 7-8 days.

However, the Carabou Mountian home was the nicest and most well equipped home we have ever stayed in. We were all very pleased with the decor, comfort and warmth the home provided throughout our week long stay. The kitchen was the most well-equipped we have ever seen at any other residence we have frequented in the area. The home was extremely clean, conveniently located, and easily accessible. The owner was always prompt with his responsiveness regarding payment, expectations of the rental agreement, and questions concerning certain features of the home, even after our arrival.

The New Hong Kong Chinese Restaruant in Winter Park is outstanding and has some of the best Chinese cuisine I have ever experienced.

I would definitely highly reccommend this property to anyone who is looking for "all the comforts of home" combined with simplistic luxury during their vacation stay in the Winter Park/Fraser area.

This home was oustanding and I look forward to our trip and staying at this home again next year. This home was even more beautiful in person than the website portrayed.

Wonderful Vacation Home!

We had a wonderful stay at this vacation home! The house was beautiful and well maintained. It comfortably slept our party of 5 adults and 5 kids. The kitchen was large and very well stocked with dishes, appliances, and everything you might need to cook up a tasty dinner. The furniture/ beds and other amenities were of very good quaility. We found the owner to be very helpful and easy to communicate with. Our children in particular loved having the large yard to play in (build snowmen, go sledding, etc). It's location in Fraser makes it easy to commute to Winter park to ski. I would highly recommend this property to anyone!

This home was eactly the way it was discribed. It was cozy, clean, and everything our 3 families with children was looking for. It was conviently located just miles from the Winter park Ski resort, shopping and resturants. Our families really enjoyed the spaciousness of the home, not to mention the outdoor fun that they had. We would definetly rent this home again. The owner Art, was wonderful to work with. He was even so gracious as to buy a new hot tub during our stay b/c the one that was at the house wasn't working properly.

Family winter getaway

This mountain home has everything you need for a great stay. We had 10 people there ranging from 6 months to 60. There was plenty of space for all of us to play a game together and enough individual rooms for people to relax on their own. The kitchen was great and we really enjoyed using the high end appliances to make our family dinners.

Fraser is a great place to stay with the access to the Winter Park ski bus, the sled hill and snowmobiling.

We can't wait to stay again!

My family of 10 rented the house for Thansgiving 2008. We had a great time, and were very pleased with the house, its location, and the transactions with the owner.(Thanks Art!)

The house had everything we needed, from the fully stocked kitchen, to extra towels for the hot tub (really nice hot tub).

If your looking for great cabin near Winter Park, your search is over, book this one!

"Hey Art,

We were all looking forward to this trip for a long time, so the house had to fill some really high expectations...it surpassed all of them!

I wish I had a video of all of us running around the house (especially my 4 year old niece) the first half an hour after we arrived. It was a lot of fun to find all the little extras the house offers. I run a construction company and was impressed with how well built the house is. It is obvious you did not cut any corners.

It snowed 3" the first night, so everything was beautiful, and skiing was great. We got about 4" the second day, so half of us stayed at the cabin and had a great time sledding down the driveway, while the rest of us went skiing. Then we sat in the hot tub that night and watched it snow.

The kitchen had everything we needed for a great Thanksgiving dinner."
