Our Yellow Flat is a well designed, tastefully decorated and completely renovated apartment. It is a comfortable, bright and secure home away from home for your next trip to Paris.

The Yellow Flat is located near the top of the Champ De Mars, the large park that runs perpendicular to the Eiffel Tower in a building that abuts Avenue De Suffren. This is a perfect location from which to easily explore the city, close to all forms of transit (metro, bus and taxi). It is an easy walk to ththe Eiffel Tower and the Seine.

The Yellow Flat is located on the sixth floor of our building with a modern elevator that was installed in 2010 and pass code protected. Both the bedroom and living rooms feature floor to ceiling windows, keeping the flat cheery and sunny. You look at the beautiful Parisian skyline and there is no one above you to disturb your stay.

Do you love to cook? We hope that you will enjoy our brand new kitchen, renovated in 2012 as much as we have. It features an induction stove top and full sized oven and refrigerator. It is stocked with all the gear that you need to make a gourmet meal taking advantage of the quality ingredients that are everywhere.

Be sure to have a glass of wine or breakfast on our balcony at you look out at the Parisian skyline.

And while the neighborhood is very lively during the day, our street is quiet so you sleep well at night.

This is a wonderful Parisian neighborhood full of unique shops, gourmet food stores, sidewalk cafes, authentic not touristy restaurants and people.

It is an excellent location, close to two high quality pedestrian friendly shopping streets Rue Cler and Rue du Commerce. There is easy access to transit via the metro from La Motte Piquet Grenelle only two blocks away (which has three separate metro lines), busses and taxi stands that reach the rest of the city with ease.

The apartment has a separate bedroom, a living room, bathroom and kitchen, about 400 square feet in size with plenty of storage. There is an outdoor terrace with table and chairs.

It is fully stocked with all of the amenities we want when we stay at the flat as it is our home in Paris when we travel.

We have a bi-lingual manager in Paris who will greet you on arrival and is ready to help you with your questions and concerns.

Should you wish we will for a reliable driver to pick you up and take you back to the airport and even stock your fridge with gourmet goodies. Let us know if you are interested in either of these options and we will take care of it.

We refer to our apartment in Paris as the Yellow Flat and when you look at our pictures you see why. Your can also learn more about the flat and the neighborhood by visiting our new website, see the link below.

There is always something to do including an open air market twice week and grocery shopping is easy and close.

'We are just home last night from our wonderful week in Paris. Your apartment is wonderful and was perfect for us. We can't say enough how much we enjoyed your place. We loved the instruction book with the pictures, the decor, the washer/dryer, the location, and the personal touches. The kitchen was well supplied and easy to work in. The nice bathroom and shower were also a plus. And, we couldn't believe how quiet the neighborhood was!! We will definitely be back and we also will recommend your place to friends and family Our experience was outstanding. Thank you so much.'

About Jules Kragen

Many years ago a young French woman had a dream about coming to America that wouldn't leave her mind. Little did she realize that she would settle in the San Francisco Bay Area. Years later she and her husband Jules realized their dream when they purchased their 'pied a tere' in Paris, the Yellow Flat.

The Yellow Flat is our base when our family is fortunate enough stay in Paris and we are truly glad that our guests have felt the same. It is our home away from home and we take good care of it. We are sure you will agree that it is a special place.

Jules Kragen purchased this apartment in 2005

Why Jules Kragen chose 7th Arrondissement Eiffel Tower

We love the access to the green open spaces of the large park, the Champ De Mars and the Seine. We love to walk in Paris and this is an ideal location. What a luxury to have Eiffel Tower and the Champ De Mars park in your evening stroll, whether in the afternoon or at midnight.

Easy transportation. You can get anywhere in Paris, or out, by metro, bus, RER or train from our flat. There are three metro lines at the closest metro station.

The busy day time atmosphere, the quite evenings and the view from the balcony.

What makes this apartment unique

Breakfast on the terrace.

Reading on the couch.

Gourmet shopping on Rue Lourmel and Rue Cler. Baked goods at Poilaine and cheese from Marie Cantal.

Exploring the neighborhood, finding new stores and interesting sights.

New restaurants and things to do all the time.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Jules,

Just a quick note to thank you. We had a great time in Paris. The apartment was centrally located and we can walk to the Eiffel Tower! The place had just what we needed, including a balcony that was utilized almost every morning/evening when we are in. The restaurant list was very useful. We love Mansouri----and it's only two metro stops from the apartment.

I just want to mention "Fat Tire" Bike Tour in Versailles. Their headquarter in Paris is a 5 minutes walk from the apartment and they do a great bike tour. Everyone there speaks English and the tour is done in English. The tour takes you riding in the streets of Paris from their headquarter to the RER station. You then board your train to Versailles' open market to get stables for your picnic before riding the grounds. We had a great time and thought your guests might like it, too.

It was nice to work with you. Everything was so easy and I love the fact that you replied very quickly to any questions or concerns that we had. Thiery was great and very personable. Thank you, Rosine

Wonderful

My husband and I stayed at the Yellow Flat with our 11-year old daughter for a week in October. The apartment was just as billed -- perfectly appointed and maintained, very convenient in terms of Metro access, and located in a lovely, safe neighborhood of Paris. The owner and property manager both were responsive and incredibly helpful before and during our trip. We would recommend this apartment to all and hope to return quickly!

The Yellow Flat--terrific stay!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I travel a bit and every now and then we like to stay in an apartment rather than a hotel. We tried the Yellow Flat and were more than pleased! It was like staying in a home, with all of the amenities and warmth you can imagine in an apartment in Paris. The kitchen is very modern and recently remodeled, the living room is adequate and the large windows make it seem so much larger! The bedroom and bath were good too. Overall, the location, the quiet but upscale neighborhood, and the close proximity to the Eiffel Tower, restaurants and metro made it a superb choice. We will return for sure! (we travel to Paris about once a year for a get-away!) Thank you, Jules for sharing your Yellow Flat with us.

Location, Location, Location!!!

We spent a wonderful week here as a family of 4 (including 14 and 18 year old girls) and this flat had everything we needed. For the American's reading this, the owners took great pains to make this sure we are comfortable and I truly mean that. You will feel like you are borrowing a friends flat because they thought of everything. The shower rivals any spa with all the hot water you need, the kitchen is updated, very functional and has EVERYTHING you need to make gourmet meals. Not that you will need to cook b/c the location is excellent with fabulous food just steps away. I felt completely safe allowing my daughters to explore the neighborhood and when we played tourist the Metro is only blocks away.

They have a local management team that has Nordstrom’s level customer service and a driver that will pick you up at the airport (take advantage of that, it’s worth every penny). We over packed with 4 huge suitcases and they had enough drawers and cabinet space to unpack everything . We will be back!!

Owner's Response: Thank you again for your kind words. I am particularly happy that you and your family got to celebrate your daughter's 18th birthday at Chez Les Anges and hope to eat there when I visit Paris this March. Kind regards Jules

Lovely Flat, Terrific Customer Support

  • 5 of 5

The Yellow Flat is perfect: size (separate toilet room with sink, from shower room with sink made getting ready in the morning fast and easier), big windows, furnishings (lots of closets, good bed, comfortable couch, space to dine), exceptional kitchen (really!), and location (close to Motte Picquet metro, antique shops, UNESCO, terrific bakery, butcher and grocery store). But the excellent, helpful assistance of the local person (Kate) who met us at the Yellow Flat was really so terrific. When we got out of the car we realized that my husband had left his laptop 'somewhere' at the airport! It contained all his medications, including one that needed to be refrigerated. Kate stayed with us, made numerous calls, got us online and by near miracle the bag was located at CDG Lost and Found (with the laptop and all meds!). Kate and her boss Thierry arranged for a driver to bring the case to us - before the expiry of the medication. Astonishing level of cooperation!

My stay in Paris was perfect. The apartment was ideal for what I needed - a home away from home while touring Paris. The welcoming high-altitude city is perfect for finding great food and relaxation.

Wonderful Stay at a Great Location

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I stayed @ the Yellow Flat for 10 days and found it just wonderful as a launching placed for an extended Paris visit. The flat itself is very adequate for 2 travelers with updated kitchen and bath. We had more than enough room and amenities to make our trip delightful. There are many great locations to stay in Paris and we found ourselves asking -- Maybe we should have stayed here or there. But here are the major points for this flat location vs. others: 1) 10 minute walk max to Eiffel Tower 2) 5 minute walk to one of the very few Starbucks 3) 5 minute walk to a 3-line metro station (6-8-10) that can get you to most everywhere 4) 5 minute walk to probably the largest outside markets in Paris held every Sunday and Wednesday 5) 5 minute walk to a large grocery store 6) and steps away from a bakery and many nice brasseries.

All in all a very good experience
