SPECIAL OFF-SEASON RATES! Escape to an island off the coast of North Carolina. Ocean Isle is a quiet, family-oriented beach a short drive over a modern bridge. A 'world away' but a short drive from numerous golf courses and the Myrtle Beach area. Our new Penthouse villa is part of the Private Islander Resort and Beach Club that features a large pool, children pool, outdoor hot tub, lockers, Tiki Bar and restaurant overlooking the beach. The villa has ocean and Intracoastal views and is located across the street from a wide, undeveloped section of beach. Villa was professionally decorated with unique, upscale 'Tommy Bahama'-type decor. Villa is not decorated as a typical rental unit so guests will find a comfortable, relaxing experience. The villa has (2) masters with King beds and (2) bedrooms with a Queen and Twin bed each. All bedrooms have full, private baths. TVs, multiple DVD players, fully equipped kitchen, and elevator. Villas are only 3 floors with 2 villas per floor.

Ocean Isle is a low-key private island offering a quiet family oriented atmosphere. Lodging consists primarily of vacation homes and low-rise villas. Much of the beach near our villa remains undeveloped. It is a narrow island so the intracoastal waterway can be seen on one side and the ocean on the other. The villas are separated by canals so plenty of water views. Villas have private tennis courts as well as the beach club. There are several good restaurants on the island all on the water. All the restaurants have tiki bars or outdoor dining and feature live music. The island has a fishing pier and a couple of small beach shops and is free of fast food, neon lights and tall condo projects. Night time activities include taking flashlights to the beach for turtle watching. Ocean Isle is a breeding ground for sea turtles and the island has a great turtle museum. There are numerous golf courses close by and the Myrtle Beach area is 20 miles south and the Wimington is 40 miles north.

Golf, Golf and more Golf: The area surrounding Ocean Isle Beach is one of the top golf destinations in the world. There are numerous golf courses within a few minutes from the island and the Myrtle Beach area is 20 minutes away. We can send you a map of the golf courses in the area.

Fishing and Riding Bikes: Ocean Isle Beach as its own fishing pier and charter fishing is available as well as boat rentals. Bike rentals are available on the island.

Turtle Watching and Beach Activities: Ocean Isle Beach is a turtle preserve. There is a Turtle Museum and turtle nests are marked and protected. A popular nightly activity is to go for ice cream and walk on the beach and watch for hatching baby turtles. The beach at Ocean Isle has natural areas with no development and villa is walking distance to end of island inlet to intracoastal waterway from ocean.

Golf: Too many golf course to list. We can send you a map of the area courses. The Myrtle Beach are is 20 miles away and there are over 200 golf courses in the area.

When we arrived we were all amazed at the decor and roominess of this rental (we have a small family reunion every year). The condo was so nicely decorated (loved the tropical feel!) and very clean, the kitchen was nicely stocked with utensils for cooking, the washer and dryer came in very handy and the elevator was wonderful because our 81 year old grandfather came with us. We would definately recommend this unit!

The view of the lagoon and the ocean was great, the pool was easy to get to as was the wonderful beaches. The only thing that we didn't really understand was the "outlawed" canopy rule - but also saw in the paper that it was because of people not picking up after themselves, so that made sense.

On day we took the ferry and met up with a Capt. Robert (Carolina Explorer) at Carolina Beach. We caught so many Spanish Mackeral - we had a blast! Would highly recommend using him if you like fishing!

We were very close to Barefoot Landing, so we did some shopping. Don't care for Myrtle Beach - nice to visit but would not want to stay there. Also went to Callahan's for fish and Butch's BBQ for ribs - both were excellent! Also loved the little ice cream shop at Ocean Isle and the Giggling Mackeral.

Really wanted to go to South Port to do some shopping, but we ran out of time. Spent a lot of time just sitting at the beach and letting the waves wash over us - the best part!

We had a wonderful time and definately will be returning - wish it could be today!
