PRIME WEEK! USUALLY $5500. SPECIAL TAKE OFF $500.00! ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT IN JULY/AUGUST.Our new home in Centerville is close to Osterville Center, fab beaches (Craigville), great shopping, golf, tennis, antiquing, theater, kids' activities (playground, library, penny candy store, Four Seas Ice Cream,), & is easily accessible to all areas of the Cape & Islands, nearby Hyannis airport or Boston /Providence. Our home is a NE style extended Cape Cod with lovely detailing, a luxury home with gourmet kitchen, lg fireplaced fam room, office/den, open floor plan throughout the 1st floor, wood floors, master suite-gorgeous bath, marble floors, counters & shower stall, & a private gas-fireplaced sitting room. A huge deck overlooks lovely gardens. The 2nd floor has 2 lg bedrooms & bath between. Over a 3-car garage is a lg bedroom & full bath which can work as a private 2nd master or dorm room with 4 twins. We have furnished with a mixture of original art, designer furnishings & pillow-top mattresses . It is a comfortable, upscale home professionally designed in a great location

Most recent improvements and contact information: Extensive landscaping & fencing. The house is very private & overlooks cranberry bogs. We have added a 52'' flat-screened TV above the fireplace in the family room & a BluRay player! Another flat screen TV is in a cabinet in the master bedroom. TV's in other bedrooms & media as well in the bedroom above the garage. We also have re-upholstered & added comfortable seating to the family room & bedrooms, & our dining room has an antique French farm table which can seat up to 9, (next to kitchen table seating 6 more!), an antique Welsh Dresser, had custom cushions made for the chairs, & added a custom designer area carpet. We have lovely accessories and lots of original art in many media, in cold weather, warm down fill comforters in duvets are waiting for you in the bedrooms! Two fireplaces (one wood burning and one gas.) We keep making what is great even better! Come & enjoy this lovely home!

We are constanty perfecting! And Freebies!: We have completed the decorating of the entire home with custom high end furnishings, custom draperies, fresh paint colors, accessories and potted plants and flowers. We are always improving what is already a beautiful and functional home. It looks like a designer show house, but is certainly not a 'don't touch' environment! It is open concept in the entertaining/eating areas, but very private in there bed/bath areas. It is so close to all kinds of activities in addition to the beach! Tennis, golf, boating, museums, summer theater, casual and gourmet doing, concerts of all types-some free, groups perform outside the Osterville library. There are cultural activities including all kinds of summer theater, classical music including a chamber music week, pops, and band concerts. There are garden tours and house tours as well. For those who like the bar scene, Hyannis is very close and there are bars, restaurants, mini-golf, game rooms for the kids, and much more. Cape League Baseball games are a favorite with my grandson!

This is NOT your typical rental! It far exceeds in location, beauty, comfort and service to our guests.

About Carole or Frank Kaplan

A great friend in college was from Massachusetts; he told me all about Boston and Cape Cod & I fell in love with New England immediately. Summers I worked for Harvard University in Cambridge, Ma and a new world opened up for me. I met my husband on the steps of Widener Library! I taught high school English; we married and settled in the beautiful prep school town of Andover, Ma. Decades later in a new career of interior design, we decided to buy a second home on the coast of Maine-they were happy years overlooking the ocean & the lighthouse. We are ocean lovers. Decades later we sold that house & retired to Vero Beach, Florida & Cape Cod-the warmer climes appealed. We now overlook a Cranberry Bog & walk to the ocean. The house is beautiful & large enough to entertain friends, & family. The city grandkids love the big backyard and deck, the beach & all the kids' theater, museums & min-golf nearby. They also like Grandma's cooking & help as the kitchen is overstocked with cooking gear & has a huge island. They also love their own huge bedroom & bath-something they don't have in the city. We can have memories made with our grandkids. Friends also love to come & share gourmet feasts out on the huge deck, & picking our own flowers from the abundant gardens is another enjoyable activity. Taking walks together into the village, stopping at the Penny Candy Store, or Four Seas Ice Cream, & picking up bargain books at the Library is great fun. It's all about the beach but there is just so much more here to enjoy.We all so love sitting on the big deck overlooking the big yard, the kids playing, and the garden views are beautiful. We feel really fortunate to have this gorgeous home in such a special place.

We absolutely loved the layout of the house! It is large and has quite separate areas for entertaining and bedroom/bath areas. We looked all over Cape Cod and wanted a fresh, new home with all the comforts like central AC, central vac, alarm system, privacy, lots of light! But we also wanted to be near the beach and near to the convenience of shopping without driving far and wide in traffic. We enjoy traveling and didn't want to take three hours to get to an airport, or to the culture of Boston. (traffic from towns up Cape can be a nightmare). We also don't enjoy the crowds in some of the Cape towns. We have it all here. We love the seasons here and the long growing season for our gardens. We like the spacious rooms-and lots of closets and a private circular driveway-and the openness of the kitchen-family room, dining room and deck for entertaining and gathering of friends and family. This house has it all! My college dream of living in NE, near the great cities of Boston and Cambridge, a home by the shore on Cape Cod all came true!

Our home is in the charming village of Centerville near Osterville Center with its tony town center, & lux shops, or busy Hyannis (5 mins), & .8 mile from family friendly Craigville Beach (oceanside). Two fireplaces, cozy beds, a cook's delight, lovely linens, privacy, make for a memorable stay. Whether you enjoy upscale shops, antiquing, or malls, we have it! Biking & walking- safe & easy. We are only blocks from famous Four Seas Ice Cream, library, penny-candy store, hist. museum, playground & more. We don't get the traffic of Falmouth or Chatham & we are easier to get to from Boston/Providence. The house on 1.4 acres on a private cul-de-sac & cranberry bogs at the rear. We aren't far from Bayside(6A) with calm beaches & charming antique homes. Centerville really IS the center of Cape Cod, a convenient location. Summer theater-movies, concerts, golf, museums, tennis & restaurants are close by. There are so many activities for adults & kids that it is impossible to name them all!

Other Activities: Malls nearby. Kids' activities other than beach: mini-gold, biking, museums, boat rides. For adults and kids: Tennis, golf.....sightseeing, antique shops and shows, concerts on village greens, historical homes and tours, great library with sale book room downstairs, beautiful walk to beach, nature preserves, garden tours, adult and children's theaters, etc.

Golf: There are several golf courses within reasonable driving times.

Ski: Well, water skiing!!!

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (US Dollar) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Notes

  • It is a bonus that there is no sales or lodging tax on private rentals in this area.
  • Please refer to the chart above for rates. Owners welcome calls and are happy to discuss your needs.
    We will consider a small-non-shedding dog; however, due to family allergies, we cannot take cats or large, shedding dogs.

    We offer the option of either a $1500. security deposit or a Rentor 's weekly insurance policy payment of $69.00 against major damage, fire, etc. plus the lesser security deposit of $500. You are still responsible for informing owners during your stay of any small damages, breakage, which also must be reimbursed. Items missing (like towels, beach chairs, etc) are to be returned or paid for. We reluctantly require these terms because of past issues. Thank you for your understanding.

    Beach Passes: Only an owner of property in Barnstable County can purchased a summer long pass for guests. It includes the more exclusive beaches not available to rentors (like Dowses in Osterville). It would also be cheaper
    than what a rentor can obtain. $50.00
  • A multiple month stay during the winter/bridge seasons is much lower than the high season rate plus all utilities, snow-plowing, and a security deposit and first and last month's rent. Realtors recommend the high season weekly rate as a monthly rate in the winter. We do rent for shorter periods of time in the winter as well.

  • Baths are large and luxurious with lots of storage and natural light. We have custom plantation shutters in the master bath. There are two separate sink/ marble topped vanities, to the left and right of the French doors which lead into this large, luxurious room. Walls have white wainscoting and a high ceiling. The shower has extra jets! A 'Jack and Jill' large bathroom is upstairs in the center of the house with two sinks, shower/tub combo, wc, and linen closet. It is fresh and pretty with charming accessories, and original art, as appointed in all our rooms! The half bath is near the kitchen in the back hall next to the laundry room & is in a very convenient location. Another ensuite is above the garage. A separate second stairway leads to it from the rear hall. It, too, is large and the bath boasts a separate walk-in shower, wc, sink vanity an outside shower on the side deck is an added convenience. All are very private. Appointments are in exquisite taste, very fresh and new!

Central to the house up a gorgeous winding stairway are two large guestrooms with full bath between. The fourth bedroom is separate up a private stairway, is quite large & has a full bath & another shower stall with clear glass door & two sinks.There is room for a crib & child bed. BR's have great windows & are large & light-filled, with lots of closets & luxury pillowtop mattresses. Furnishings are new in pretty colors. All bedcoverings are matching in lovely cottons. From all bedrooms (and especially from the deck) you can see to the lg yard where we have added extensive landscaping, especially at the rear, so that you can enjoy perennial gardens & a cranberry bog. Notes: One small non-shedding dog considered/additional security deposit, health and shots records, additional restrictions on contract. We require that animals be in their crates or cages when no one is at home during your stay, animal must be fully trained, not permitted on beds, furniture, etc. Since we have a small non-shedding mini schnauzer, it's scent is in the house; we cannot have a free-running animal spotting where it senses our pet. (First Floor) master suite and open design of kitchen, dining room, and master suite allow for wheelchair . House is air-conditioned and new, so the environment is low on allergens. (Four outside units and four zones. We request that smokers only smoke outside the house. This is a great multi-age family house or is suitable to several couples or two couples with children or girls' getaways.Ten person maximum occupancy + infant. An additional fee of $1000. per person minimum if additional persons are discovered in house or camping outside.

perfect home away from home

We were an extended family of 7 that had the good fortune of finding the Kaplan's house to stay at over Thanksgiving. Not only was the house set up perfectly for all of us, but the kitchen and all it's high end amenities made it that much more enjoyable. The house itself is set on a very private cul-de-sac and the view of the cranberry bog in the back made it even more special. The furnishings are exquisite, even down to the linens! There was not one thing we needed in preparing our Thanksgiving meal that wasn't there. Carole has thought of everything! There is all sorts of information available about the area, and if there is any question that you may have, Carole and Frank are accessible by phone. I would not hesitate to recommend this house to stay at to anyone, the house and area provide something of interest for everyone!

Simply Beautiful

We were so happy to find the house as lovely as depicted in these photos. It was so comfortable that I considered never leaving. Lots of light, space and beauty. Our little dog loved her walks along the bog. We loved the central location! This is certainly a gem!

Perfect From Start to Finish!

We had a perfect stay from start to finish! Frank and Carole are such gracious owners, and absolutely no detail is overlooked. They are truly concerned that their guests have a dream vacation! Their home and gardens are spectacular, and Carole is an amazing designer. We were celebrating my parents' 50th wedding anniversary, looking for a very special place, and we definitely found it. Carole and I communicated a number of times before and during our stay, and we were fortunate enough to meet and visit with them in person. She shared many ideas and tips for our itinerary, and she even helped us locate a great photographer in the area for a family portrait at beautiful Craigville beach. Centerville is a wonderful location, and we hope to visit again. At one point, Carole mentioned that she hoped we would feel like we were staying in the home of a friend. And, we most certainly did feel that way!

The Best of Cape Cod: Luxury and Location

My wife and I stayed at the Kaplan home late last summer. We have always thought that the Centerville/Osterville area is the Cape at its best -- the kind of upscale environment that makes you feel privileged to be able to share.

The Kaplan home is only a few years old, bright, roomy, immaculate, very comfortable and obviously luxurious. It is very well maintained, inside and out. Everything was ready for us when we arrived, appliances and systems worked properly, and there was no doubt that the furnishings had been selected and collected by a very talented designer.

Breakfast on the large and sunny deck was a special treat, nearby Craigeville beach was a highlight, the local shops were sophisticated excursions and there are great places to eat within easy reach. In short, we had a great time in many different ways and are looking forward to returning.

The sheer joy of fine living is so apparent at your home in Centerville.You have created a home that is not only a visual treat but also a respite from the cares of the world.
The master suite with it's spa inspired bath and luxurious sitting room was the perfect refuge from all the guests and relatives visiting us.
The open kitchen and family room was a fun place to enjoy our guests and family as we were preparing meals or snacks. We are serious cooks and really appreciated that your kitchen had everything we needed to produce some amazing meals.
Our guests constantly commented on their lovely rooms, great baths and the linens.
Sitting on the deck with it's view of the cranberry bog and your flower gardens was such a relaxing time.We have told all our friends about your home. Thankyou

I, too, am a great cook, and culturally am inclined to surround our family and guests with great food! We are certainly more than well equipped for epicurean delights should our guests be so inclined; however, many don't wish to spend a vacation cooking!! So, I am glad you also enjoyed vegging out on that great deck! Some tell me they hate to leave-stresses just disappear here!
