Walk to Cockle Cove beach from this secluded home with a water view from the deck, with gas barbecue. The house sits on 2-acres of woods on a quiet private road & has a nice clearing for badminton. The ground level includes a full bath, laundry area (with washer and dryer) and family room with a bunk bed futon. On the sunny south facing main level of the house there are 2 bedrooms, a full bath, fully equipped kitchen (microwave, dishwasher, blender, lobster pot & coffee maker), living room and dining area plus a large 300 sq ft deck. The large upper loft level is a 3rd bedroom with a 1/2 bath. Comfy newer beds, living & dining furniture make this a true vacation get away. Free standing wood stove completes the living-room area. Always an ocean breeze through the wooded lot, plus newly installed AC (if needed) . Free long distance phone service, cable TV & hi-speed internet. Both the public Cockle cove Beach & the more secluded jetty beach are a short 2-block walk from the house on a small sandy rd

Great bird watching from the deck or at the beach, gentle breezes day and night and loads of stars on clear nights, without the lights of the city. The beach is perfect for small children as it is very shallow and the change in tide offers loads of variety for beach combing. Beach walkers will enjoy the walk all the way to a distant light house. The public beach is groomed and guarded... nearby secluded beach offers a deep hole for great swimming and a channel for floating on the changing tide.

The town of Chatham is about 3 miles away with great shops and restaurants. The ice cream shop at the end of the road is wonderful for the whole family. Small roads, little traffic, great walking, jogging, biking. The rail/bike trail is about 1 mile from the house.

Loads of privacy : The 3 levels of the house make it possible for everyone to have some space. Private parking for 2+ cars as well as a garage (in case of rain). The phone has call-waiting and call messaging service, as well as unlimited long distance (included). Internet connection also included.

Easy access to shops and restaurants: Downtown Chatham, just 10 minutes away, offers wonderful shops and world class dining opportunities. The bike trail connection is about 1 mile from the house, with rental options nearby. Loads of vacation fun with miniature golf, great beaches, fishing, boating, wind surfing, and wonderful fresh seafood.

About Merry Dahms

The property has been in the family since 1941, when the original cottage was built. This home was built in 1969, with lots of upgrades since that time. The secluded, yet convenient location is a perfect get-away. At night, the star gazing is amazing with no city lights to interfere.

Our children and now our grandchildren love to visit.

Chatham is a destination for great beaches, shops and restaurants with something for all ages. The Friday night band concert in downtown Chatham, strawberry festival, craft fairs, lobster roll supper and more. Our home is about 3 miles to downtown Chatham and about a 5 minute walk to the public beach at the end of Cockle Cove road. The 4th of July parade is something to be seen... with marching bands, fire trucks and more.

Other Activities: Shopping ! running, biking, bird watching, relaxing on the beach, fishing, seal watching, whale watching (in Provincetown), great restaurants.

Golf: The public course in Chatham, next to the Chatham Bars Inn.

Our family has enjoyed vacation life at the Dahms' house almost every Summer for nearly 20 years. It's become like a second home for us. It's comfortable, roomy, quiet at night, and very well-equipped and convenient to everything we love about the Cape....the golf courses, the beaches and the wonderful village of Chatham. We recommend it most enthusiastically... as long as there's time left every year for us !
