Le Chemin des Rêves has three beautiful bedrooms, each with en suite bathrooms which are tastefully decorated. All bedrooms and bathrooms were designed with comfort and privacy in mind. Each room is fully equipped with radio/alarm clock, linens, plush towels, body wash, hair dryer and tissues. The master bedroom suite also has a bathtub and adjacent sitting room with fireplace and access to the terrace, garden and swimming pool.
The kitchen is well equipped with a five burner gas cooktop, oven with rotisserie, dishwasher; refrigerator with freezer and microwave. You will also find all the pots, pans, food processor, blender, toaster, coffee pot and all the utensils required to prepare delicious meals using the products you will find in the local village markets. Market day in Gordes is Tuesday morning and the definitely not-to-be-missed farmers market in Coustellet is on Sunday morning. The adjacent utility room has a washer, dryer and extra refrigerator with freezer.
The dining room is furnished with beautiful oak furniture and the table is easily expandable to seat 8 - 10 people comfortably. You will find that all necessary china, flatware, stemware and linens are available for your use.
The living room, with it's massive stone fireplace and high ceilings with Provençal beams, is furnished with beautiful leather couches and chair. The double doors open to reveal the magnificent valley and mountains.
You will find the den/library equipped with HDTV with SkyTV service, DVD player, CD/radio, I-Pod player, WiFi service and copier/fax/printer. There is a vast collection of CD's and DVD's for your entertainment. In addition, the library is stocked with several hundred books and magazines for your enjoyment.
Our very private swimming pool is 11 x 5 meters and is a wonderful place for family fun or swimming laps. There are 8 comfortable pool loungers where you can relax after a dip in the pool and read or just take a nap.
In the pool house you will discover a BBQ with rotisserie (wood is provided), a small refrigerator, sink and comfortable furniture for relaxing. This is a wonderful place to enjoy a meal cooked on the BBQ and watch the beautiful Provençal sunset.
At the rear of the house you will find the herb garden and a stone picnic table where you can enjoy leisurely meals in the shade of the oak trees.
Planted in the garden are 60+ olive trees, 300+ lavender plants, many varieties of flowers, bushes and native trees which add a lovely dimension of color to the landscape. As you walk around the garden you will enjoy the aromas of Provence...wild thyme, rosemary and savory. While walking through the gardens you will also discover an ancient stone borie which is a fine example of the bories that dot the landscape in this area of France. If you like, you can visit the Village of the Bories which is just up the road from Le Chemin des Rêves.
While visiting Le Chemin des Rêves here are some sites you may wish to discover: the walled city of Avignon - just a 30 minute drive away; the beautiful village of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, which is surrounded by the vines of some of the premier wine makers in the world, is only a 40 minute drive from the property. In an hour or so you can be in the Camarque or Arles, see the Pont du Gard or visit the Roman theater in Orange, drive to Aix-en-Provence or visit the ancient city of Marseille. St. Rémy-de-Provence, Les Baux-de-Provence and the marvelous archeological site of Glanum are a must see. And almost in our back yard is the amazing Abbaye de Sénanque surrounded by lavender fields and maintained by Cistercian monks. Just follow the signs to discover these spectacular sights and more!
LE CHEMIN DES REVES is located within walking distance of the perched village of Gordes and is perfectly located for making day trips to many of the most popular sites in Provence. Avignon, home to the Palais des Papes and the famous Pont d'Avignon is 30 minutes away. The ancient city of Marseille, where you can savor bouillabaisse and take a boat trip to view the Calonques between Marseille and Cassis, is about one hour by car. Antiques abound in the nearby L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. The famous wines of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueras can be sampled at the wineries and are just a 40 minute drive away. Sunday farmers market in Coustellet is a must for all your culinary needs and more. Tuesday is market day in Gordes and is not to be missed. The ancient city of Arles with its well preserved Roman artifacts is an easy 45 miute drive. Continue south to the Camargue to marvel at the flamingos, wild horses and bulls.
