Come relax at The Lookout. It is a heated year-round house on 1/2 an acre of land with views of Harpswell Sound. We are situated in a peaceful neighborhood with a specious, grassy yard for outdoor picnicking. It is also great for the children to run and play. We have our own blueberry bush for picking blueberries when in season.

Indoors we have all the comforts of home. A fully equipped kitchen, a separate dining room, and a comfy family room. There is a heated, enclosed porch to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning while watching the sun rise over Harpswell Sound or perhaps enjoy a meal on the porch as twilight arrives. We have three fully furnished bedrooms with ample closet space in two of them.

We are approximately 20 minutes away from Cook's Corner where you can stock up on supplies. We are 15 minutes away from Brunswick with many fine restaurants and 20 minutes away from the outlet shopping in Freeport, home of LL Bean. Brochures are available at our house describing other interesting activities in the area. Come be our guest and discover the beautiful Harpswells of Maine.

Notes: The Lookout has all the comforts of home with a fully equipped kitchen including dishes and cookware. We have a separate dining room and a comfy family room with cable TV and a DVD player with an extensive movie selection. There is also a reading corner with a selection of books. Our porch is heated and enclosed with beautiful views of Harpswell Sound. The porch has a dining table and other available seating. In addition to a highchair we also have a portacrib, stroller and booster seat for small children. A telephone is not provided. We provide blankets and pillows. You will need to provide sheets, bath towels, beach towels, kitchen towels, washcloths, etc. Outside we have a gas grill and picnic table. There is ample off street parking. No smoking and No pets.

Perfect rental

My wife and kids and I were very pleased with everything at this charming home. We gorged on fresh blueberries from the bush in the yard. The owners were quick to respond to all our inquiries and were quick to mail back our deposit. Everything was clean. We were close to whale-watching and local lobster dinners and shopping in Freeport and eating and lighthouse visits in Portland and close to the museums at Bowdoin. Thank you to the owners from our family.
Owner's Response: We are so glad everything was in good order. We always try to make sure there are no problems, and that our renters have everything they need for a fun, relaxing vacation. Hope to hear from you again.

WE LOVED IT HERE!!!

We stayed here in June 2011. The pictures do not do this home justice! It was lovely and had everything we could need. The view was a huge bonus! I loved the yard with its blooming peonies. It is so pretty here and far enough away that you feel on vacation but close enough to town for everything you need. We enjoyed all the area has to offer. This was our first visit to Maine and even though the weather was cool and gray, the Mainers smiles lit up our vacation! We took a drive up to Moosehead Lake and got to see Moose. We went to Portland for a Lobster fest and enjoyed that too! Brunswick and Bath have great restaurants and are wonderful for evening strolls. Popham Beach was beautiful. Harpswell is GORGEOUS! You could easily spend weeks just exploring the area. The Lookout has so many games and DVD's to choose from for your down time. This is a quintessential Maine cottage with cedar shake shingles and vintage kitchen cabinets. The bedrooms are so cozy and quite ample for a family which included 3 boys ages 16, 14 and 11. Highly recommended! Dianna was wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing your home. We hope to visit again!

Lovely place in Harpswell

We were all delighted with our stay at the Lookout. This is an area that is quiet and charming. It is old school Maine for the most part, though a pop over to Baileys and Orr's Island will indicate a more tourist based environment when the season arrives. We visited Portland as well, though the rain kept us from really touring shops and all. We did have a great lunch at DuckFat and highly recommend it. We also tried to support local business by purchasing our wines and beer at the Black Sheep Wine Shop (though very small has a tremendous selection of interesting and unique items) and the corner market nearby. The Lookout offered us a very pleasing and comfortable place and were very happy with our experience. Also we received back our security deposit promptly, which is no small thing. My experience in contacting and arranging for the time was easy, efficient and we look forward to booking the place when we next find ourselves in this area.

What a great place

A tremendous cottage. Very comfortable for a group. The write-up undersells the home. The "porch" is where we spent all of our time (when not exploring the nearby scenery). It has room for a dinner table and small living area. That's where I sat reading my book in the early mornings and watched the lobster boats go by. Peace and quiet and new family memories is what we got at The Lookout.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
