Comfortable, recently renovated lakeside cottage on beautiful Orange Lake near Whiting, Maine. Enjoy sitting next to the lakeside as you view bald eagles, loons, osprey and even the occasional moose. Or, kayak across the 225 acre lake to get a closer look. Rental price includes use of 3 kayaks, a rowboat and canoe, cookware and linens. Relax a you fish from the dock or sit by the campfire enjoying some of the most awesome sunsets in the east! Day trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, Campobello Island (Canada), whale watching, lighthouses and some of the most scenic hiking trails imaginable are all possibilities from this location. Enjoy lobster dinners and wild Maine blueberry pie lakeside or in one of several nearby, reasonably-priced restaurants. Great location for couples and families. Responsible pet owners may inquire.

Hiking, whale watching, sailing on numerous lakes or from nearby Eastport and Bar Harbor, visits to East and West Quoddy Lighthouses, lobster festivals, Eco tours, kayaking and August wild blueberry festival are but a few of the many activities available in this diverse and historic area.

  • Weekly rates include use of rowboat (trolling motor available), 2 single and 1 double kayak, canoe, life jackets, all linens, kitchen utensils and equipment, basic spices, toilet paper(start up supply), use of washer & dryer; firepit (campfire wood available on site for purchase)
  • Deposit and Cancellation Fees:
    $250 deposit upon reservation, balance plus security deposit of $200 due 30 days before first day of rental period
    Cancellations prior to 30 days of rental period will be refunded $150 of deposit; No refund for cancellations within 30 days of rental period

Couldn't have picked a better time of the year to be at the lake. We found everything (and I mean everything) you would have wanted or needed available to us. The location of this property was perfect. The close proximity to major tourist sites was a plus but then you had the serenity of the lake right at your back door. We went looking for adventure but also quiet time and found both at this location. The rental process was a breeze and owners were VERY accommodating! We will defintely return to Downeast Maine again!

Our visit to Orange Lake was great. The cottage was just as described, they proivided everything we needed.
We enjoyed a quiet and relaxing week. Downeast is perfect if you just want to get away from it all.

We could sit by the lake with a book as our three boys jumped off the dock all day long. They also enjoyed fishing and kayaking each day.
The house is close enough to the water that I could watch them even when I was in the house preparing lunch or dinner.
The firepit is a nice addition. We loved sitting with a fire as we watched the sunset over the lake each night.

We took a full day out to Bar Harbor for a whale watch and hike in Acadia National Park.

Mustard from the nations only stone ground mustard mill in Eastport.
Sunrise in the eastern most part of the US in Lubec.
Award winning wild blueberry pie in Machias.
