beautiful home overlooks quiet bay

Just as we found the driveway to this wooded house, a deer appeared. Each morning, as we sipped coffee on the back deck, the moans of diving loons greeted us. There was even a hummingbird feeding on nectar on the deck...
This home overlooks some huge flat rocks onto the ocean. The house itself is a dream-- with exquisite little treasures like urchin shells and starfish,as well as books on nature--and is very bright because of the many large windows. The entrance path is lined with Black-eyed Susans and other wildflowers.
The kitchen has spices, a teapot; plenty of pots and pans; plates, silverware etc., as well as many utensils. (We easily cooked meals.)The sitting room includes a cable TV and some classic movies. The upstairs bedrooms have access to a second deck (for reading in the sun?). Both bathrooms were set up nicely and were very clean. Paintings and prints on the walls echo the 'feel' of the ocean. The decor and little knick-knacks, as well as the bedrooms, more than met our expectations.
Nearby spots include Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, a huge used bookstore and lobster restaurants. Still, this is a very pristine area of Maine.
We really enjoyed our time here and highly recommend this rental. The combination of the gorgeous view, the privacy, and the very comfortable house make this a lovely place to relax...
