This lovely cottage home sits only a stone's throw from the ocean with a breathtaking ocean view from every room. While the private road across a blueberry field and then through woods to the cottage ensures a feeling of seclusion, the conveniences of the city of Ellsworth are only 10 minutes away. Both upstairs bedrooms have walkout balconies and share a half bath. A large bedroom and full bath are downstairs. An open floor plan encompasses the family room area and dining area with wall-to-wall windows allowing panoramic deep water views. Enjoy views of Acadia and Bar Harbor from the main deck. Lovely gravel beach and flat rocky ledges just outside your door. Marlboro beach is less than a mile away.

Nearest Beach : beach at 15 Metres

Lamoine is a small coastal community located at the head of Frenchman's Bay in Hancock County, Maine. Lamoine was settled in the 1760's and was a major ship building community prior to the civil war. Near Ellsworth and Bar Harbor, it offers plentiful shopping and dining options nearby. Only 30 minutes from Acadia National Park for phenomenal hiking and sight seeing. Minutes from two public golf courses. Deep sea fishing, whale watching, and sailing tours are available in nearby Bar Harbor. Lamoine State Park is close by, in an ocean side setting with picnicking, dock, and boat access. Marlboro Beach, a coarse sand beach, is in walking distance from the cottage. The area is exceptional for kayaking and bird/nature watching.

This little place is a gem! We've returned to the Acadia area for our sixth time. This cottage is one of the best places we've stayed. We were lucky enough to witness alot of wildlife including: osprey, hummingbirds galore, seals (if you kayak up the river), and porpoises! The cottage is fully stocked and comfortable. If you're looking to get out and explore, this is the place. It is centrally located, close to many stores and also 30 minutes from Acadia National Park. If you're looking to relax, this is definitely a wonderful place. The atmosphere is serene, peaceful and relaxing. We highly recommend this lovely place. The owners are well-prepared and organized. The cottage has everything you need and a little extra...

"Cottage on the Rock" only hints at the beauty of this gem! This vacation home is a dream come true and Michelle and Keith could not have made their home comfortable or welcoming! We had a gloriously relaxing and fun week away!
Nature abounds-- am and pre-dusk heron visits, hummingbirds providing constant entertainment, osprey, seal, and deer sightings are just a sample. Nothing quite like morning coffee on the deck--plenty of comfy chairs for reading and visiting too! Fun to watch the lobsterman gather their catch and calm waters call for kayaking. Perennial garden is delightfully rich in color and variety. Maine cookbooks, a cabinet full of games and puzzles, as well as music and movies re-enforce--pack light--it's all covered here!
Acadia National Park is just a 40 minute drive away and filled with great hikes, carriage roads, bike paths and exciting rock climbing adventures, as well as Bar Harbor. Michelle and Keith's resource guide to all local area attractions is comprehensive.
Highly recommend and can't wait to return!

The Four Sisters

One of my best vacations, ever. Truly peaceful and quickly accessible to main highways for day trips. Every evening, we were on the deck watching the full moon coming over the bay and glistening the water. BEAUTIFUL.

The owners were Wonderful. The arrangements were done in a very quick and accurate fashion. The cabin was COMPLETE, from first aid kit to binoculars for the bird watcher.

Definitely want to go back for a longer stay. Maybe when I retire. Meanwhile I am recommending this gem to all my friends in the Midwest.

Magic Cottage on the Rock...

This was my fourth visit to the magic cottage on the rock... I find this location to be so soothing and healing. I always come away refreshed and renewed. There is so much to do in the nearby area...and locally around the cottage there's a wonderful cobblestone beach ..not to mention LaMoine state park nearby. I could spend hours on the deck gazing at the water but of course, there's so much to explore and experience...I usually find myself up to greet the sun so I can watch the humming birds and listen to the loons. The Bar Harbor area has a range of wonderful tourist attractions, awesome shopping and great restaurants. Acadia National Park is a treasure of well managed trails and stunning scenery. I highly recommend this location and terrific cottage for families and groups of friends.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway

The perfect secluded cottage on the water!

We absolutely loved this cottage!! It was secluded but yet about 10 minutes to town and only 20 minutes to Arcadia Park. It had everything you needed and was just perfect for us. It was hard to leave each day to go sightseeing, etc as it was the best place to just sit back and relax. The view was amazing!!! So quiet and peaceful!! We will definitely go back!!! Keith and Michele were always helpful with any questions we had prior to our trip and they really have thought of all the necessities that you would need while away from home!! We are so glad we took this trip to Maine and so very happy with the cottage! It was just perfect!!!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
