Welcome to Sea Zen Inn! This artist -designed home is a luxurious ,yet simple sanctuary located in Wellfleet -five minutes to the National Seashore ocean and bay beaches. Ponds, bike trails, galleries, restaurants, theaters ,tennis ,and Audubon Sanctuary are nearby. Four custom decorated bedrooms (1 queen bed in each).Upstairs is the cathedral ceiling open living/dining room/kitchen /sun room with sliders to the generous deck with expansive 180 degree views of trees and bay. Four levels of outdoor seating .Other features include :jacuzzi tub in master bath, yoga room, gourmet kitchen ( eat-at island), a den for reading and TV, large arched windows, zen landscaping, a hammock, privacy blinds, ,a laundry room, high definition television, and central air conditioning. This extraordinary destination accommodates 2-8 non-smokers (sorry but the house was not designed for younger children). Recent visitor comment: 'This is Shangri-La;an amazing place!' Sorry no pets allowed.

The house is located at a narrow part of Cape Cod (about one mile from ocean to bay) in the beautiful, quiet, nature laden South Wellfleet. A beautiful walk by the marsh takes you to a nearly private bay beach ideal for walking or high tide swimming. Also within a mile (short bike ride or even shorter car ride) is Ocean Drive with several renowned ocean beaches. The four-plex movie theater, as well as the famous 'WHAT' live theater are less than a mile away. The Audubon Sanctuary is located a five minute drive from the house and has excellent trails, birding and nature programs. Downtown Wellfleet,within four miles, has numerous art galleries, restaurants, tennis courts and golf. Provincetown, at the outermost tip of the Cape is 15-20 minutes away.

  • Simple but elegant master bath includes tiled floor, a soaking ,jetted tub and a separate shower.Bathroom two has tub/shower, tiles, wood vanity, glass medicine cabinet; Bathroom three has large shower with seat, high ceilings, stylish wooden vanity with large mirror and huge closet. Bathroom 4 is a wonderful sky blue powder room off of the main living room (painted western sky blue). The outdoor shower on entry side of the house is good for sand rinse in seasonb. There is a Laundry Room with a washer, dryer, sink and an ironing board on the ground level.

  • The beds in 3 bedrooms have pillow top queen mattresses ,all bedrooms have custom privacy blinds. The master suite includes an en suite bath with soaking tub and shower, wall to wall carpeting, two chaises with ottoman, TV, view from the bed.;Bedroom 2 has wall to wall carpeting, views from bed, designer furnishings; Bedroom 3 has western/Mission style decor, delightful lounge rocker, slider to the bluestone patio, and view of the zen garden; Bedroom 4 is the yoga/meditation/rec room by day and a comfy queen futon bed by night; it also has a queen premium air mattress available.This room looks out on the bluestone patio/ garden.The den ( although not officially a bedroom) has a queen sofa bed available for more flexible sleeping options. Maximum occupancy is limited to 8 including babies and children but there are plenty of options for various configurations. All bedrooms have large closets which are totally empty and ready for your things.

Notes: Sea Zen Inn is an ideal destination for 2-8 non-smokers who are on vacation , enrolled in a workshop , celebrating a special occasion ,or seeking a superb space for a group or personal retreat. The house is not designed for young children (high roof decks, new custom decorating,queen beds only etc),but please feel free to discuss your potential rental party needs with the owner. Rental occupancy is a minimum of one week (two week minimum in August);priority given to renters seeking longer rentals. Occupancy is possible on a Friday to Friday ,Sat.-Sat. or Sunday -Sunday basis depending on availability.

Wow! We loved staying at this fabulous house! The living room area is so dramatic with the bay views and trees outside and the earth-tones and artwork inside. The house is really comfortable too; we had a couple of rainy days during our vacation but we didn't mind staying home at all. Even if you don't do yoga or meditate, the place seems to have it's own special 'vibe' of peacefulness which even our guests felt. What is also neat is that you are so close to the bay and the ocean beaches and town (we biked), but you really feel totally away from it all at this house. You really have to experience this place to understand....

Although we had vacationed in Wellfleet before, staying at Sea Zen Inn was really a surprising and transporting experience! The house is a marvel :each room has such a different character as if walking into a painting . Plenty of privacy in each of the bedrooms on different levels. Amazing windows and ,light in the living room and mindblowing views from the top deck. Lots of nice touches in the landscaping as well ( check out the cobblestone driveway and the Buddha in the zen garden). We also liked the house “handbook” and all the thoughtful information about things to see and do in the area. Can’t wait to come back to this fantastic house next year!
