We very enjoyed our vacation. The house is clean, lot of place, very nice pool. Our kids loved it so much. We really appreciated the courtyard, it's beautiful. We appreciate th owner Mark, is always there when we needed something or when we had a question. We hope to come back.
We where 2 families with 4 kids age 6 month 4, 5 and 8 years from Denmark arriving at 08.00 pm to house where all the lights where on and ready to use.
Everything was more than perfect... the house itself, the equipment, the beautiful back yard, the lovely play ground, etc. and the pool was a dream.
The Location is perfect, close to supermarket etc, beach and in walking distance to Las Olas ( app. 20 minutes) where you find several good restaurants.
The owner were the perfect hosts, left us our privacy, and if we needed something they had been more than helpfull.
We stayed for 16 days and enjoyed every minute from the beginning to the end.
Is true that the pool is leaking, but whit the automatic water filler there was no problem.
There was fully sun at the pool from 11.00am to 16.00pm
With our next stay in Florida we would definitive try to book this house again.
Mark was great to get ahold of with any questions or concerns, very helpful!
All the best to you Mark.
Although this house seems good value it's run down. The pool is leaking badly and therefore requires constant topping up which is conducted by Mark (the guy who manages the house). Mark tends to turn up at all hours including one visit at about midnight.
The property wasn't ready when we turned up with the excuse that he was trying to make it nice for us.. Not acceptable, it was book about 2 months in advance, he had plenty of time to "make it nice". In fact you get so bored of Mark being there you start to just ignore him. Few other things.. Had to put all cups/cutlery etc. in the dishwasher as they were all filthy, comforters don't have covers (which is apparently normal!?) and it;s just generally not clean.
Anyway I emailed Mark to tell him of my disappointment and suggested a small refund of part of the initial payment (one third of the cost) to which he kindly ignored.
We spent the month of April in this Fort Lauderdale home and absolutely enjoyed it. The backyard looks very tropical and the heated pool is heavenly. Mark added lighting to the pool while we were there, which at night was very pretty. The property was clean and had a well stocked kitchen, linen closet and beach towels. We travelled with 2 small dogs and felt very safe walking them in the neighbourhood. Mark was quick to solve any issues and we were able to reach him via phone or text. We would definitely stay there again (although I see the spring of 2015 is already pretty much booked).
My wife and I brought our 5 year-old down to Florida to escape the Polar Vortex and were impressed to find this home waiting for us when we arrived late in the evening. All of the lights were left on and all of the televisions were as well. Per the instructions, we were told to call the owner, Mark, immediately upon arrival.
The back patio was beautifully landscaped and illuminated giving this midwesterner a feeling of tropical escape. The bedrooms were nicely sized for an older home and the home itself was tastefully decorated throughout.
The neighborhood is residential and neighbors amble by without suspicion (although there are instructions to speak to the neighbors in specific responses if need be)
Mark, the owner, seems like a very conscientious man and well-intentioned, but there were a little too many interactions for my liking. On garbage day, we HAD to get the bags out on time without exception and this point was the most highlighted and boldfaced of his instruction booklet. We did this, of course, but it felt a bit unnerving to have a truck stop by to ensure this actually took place. Again, I get the picture, but it felt uncomfortable.
Also, towards the end of our stay the pool's heater went out and Mark seemed more interested in fixing it for future guests than accommodating us as he spent 4-5 hours outside our bedroom window at night fixing it. He didn't comp us for the intrusion nor for the inconvenience but I didn't expect him to.
Also, having been a South Florida resident myself in the past, I understand the reason for the lights and TV's, trash deadlines, and RAID odor, but it was still a bit disconcerting to see Godzilla climbing down the bedroom wall.
Overall, the house was a nice older house, even if the kitchen felt sterile and claustrophobic. The outside patio and pool was the highlight for us and we used it even when the water turned cold. I would also like to add that this property also is very close to many attractions and businesses but is still very quiet at night, unless of course there isn't somebody outside your window fixing something. I had to call to check on my security deposit (which was returned 100%) but it did take longer than he said it would. He was very communicative, though.
I had the pleasure of staying there this March (1-8) this year with my fiancée and 4 other friends. It was our first time booking a house as opposed to finding an all inclusive, and we will likely not be doing an all inclusive again anytime soon!
We landed in West Palm Beach Saturday afternoon, and had no issue finding the neighborhood. The house was a little tricky because the civic addresses didn't necessarily follow suit with the others but it was still easy to find (numbers on houses weren't in perfect order...). So it took us a grand total of an extra 30 seconds to find. haha.
Upon arrival everything was as explained as far as entry to the house, layout of property, access to (BBQ, coffee maker, blender, etcetc.), everything..!
A few small orders to follow ex garbage to be taken out, recyclables, keeping temperature of house at a certain constant- but these are all generic house keeping things that take no effort. The WFI worked very well, no issues with that.
The location was unreal, 8-10 minute walk through the park to grocery / beer store. 20 min walk to water taxi, which I would highly recommend doing for a day (likely best / less wait Mon-Thurs), and about an hour walk to the 'main strip'. Taxis were great too- and very cheap if not looking to walk far, or long after a long day....
The only thing I would point out (personal preference) is that only half of the pool gets sun for a 3-4 hours, along with the side of pool with ladder. We weren't a group looking to lay in sun all day- but some people are. The property is surrounded by tall trees so the sun wasn't as prominent. It was perfect for us, though. And when the sun was at its strongest- there was always shade available under by the house / BBQ. Styrofoam cooler on site to help with less trips to the kitchen during the day, if you indulge in that type of thing.........
Mark was great to get ahold of with any questions or concerns, very helpful!
Thanks for everything Mark- we are already discussing plans for next year, and will be in touch sooner than later!
