A peaceful haven is the best way to describe the location of this studio; situated 50 feet above the waterline. Drift off to sleep while listening to the waves lapping against the coastline and wake up to see the sunrise over the British Virgin Islands. Enjoy your breakfast while watching the hummingbirds feed off the rare Saint Lucian Cigar flowers growing on the arbor above. Look below on a clear day and you can spot the fish and sea turtles frolicking below. Look up and you will see the pelicans soaring by your deck which is our only traffic in this neighborhood. This fully equipped studio is conveniently located: only five minutes to Magen's Bay Beach, Mahogany Run Golf Course, our own little Mandahl Beach and 10 minutes to Charlotte Amalie which makes it a perfect location for one or two people looking for a true island experience or a couple relocating to St. Thomas.

Mandahl Studio overlooks a beautiful uninhabited peninsula. You will see the locals fishing off of the jetty in the early mornings. For the athletic or adventurous, you may go on a walk down to Mandal Beach and take a dip in the clear waters. The walk back up the hill is a great work out. For those of you that would rather drive to the beach, Magen's Bay is 5 minutes away. Just a mile away, there is a convenience store to stock up on supplies. Premier Virgin Islands fine artist, Lucinda, is on property and willing to give private art shows to her guests. The only traffic in the area is the pelicans flying past your patio. The only noise is the waves below. And the occasional fishing boat. The owner has been a VI resident for 20 years and is a wealth of knowledge on the Island. Internet is available. Pets are welcome upon approval.

This studio is perfectly located-: We have within a 5 or 10 minute drive Mahogany Run Golf Course, A Buddhist Temple which offers yoga weekly, Mandahl Beach and just a bit further Magen's Bay Beach. We are also close to Mandahl Grocery Store and 3 wonderful restaurants. It's also a great neighborhood to walk in if you like hills.

We have a lot of people say they are happy-: about the fact that we have two dogs; a great dane (T-Rex) a golden retriever (Buddy) and a cat named Joker. The dogs are quite, very friendly and love people. The cat is also friendly and appropriately named because he is very funny.

Lucinda, one of the owners is also a local artist-: She teaches watercolor at The Ritz-Carlton weekly. Come be an artist for the day and let her show you the basics of color, composition and putting color to paper. You will come away with something that you will want to hang in your home. Visit Lucinda's studio downtown Charlotte Amalie on Crystal Gade where you can see her paint and create. There she shows her latest originals and abstracts. It's a 300 year old building with fantastic views so bring your camera too.

Perfect Little Hideaway for a couple

We really enjoyed our stay. We were looking for something off the beaten tourists path and more private than a resort or hotel. Lucinda's studio tucked away down a back road was perfect for what we were looking for. The wind and wave sounds of the sea lulled us to sleep. The view from the patio right above the water was mesmerizing.

We enjoyed making our own meals in a nicely stocked (pans, utensils...) small kitchen. Grocery stores are a short drive. Breakfast on the patio with the sun rising was a great way to start the day.

Our hosts, Lucinda and Shawn, and the dogs and cat were very friendly.

You must have a car to go exploring all ends of the island. You have to get accustomed to hilly and bumpy roads and driving on the left anywhere on the island. We did OK without a 4x4 but it would have made it easier on back roads.

The best snorkeling we found was the nearby beach. It's nearly private with occasional locals dropping by. Bring water shoes, as it's coral and rocky.

The hilly roads in the immediate area make for great walks.

The location is about central northern shore so a short drive to anywhere. Check out the local free beaches, which are free and have few cruise ship visitors versus Magen's bay (which is very beautiful but can be busy).

And of course check out Lucinda's beautiful art in her downtown studio!

We highly recommend this affordable vacation get away place to stay.

A truly relaxing studio with breathtaking views.

This cozy studio is perfect for a quiet, romantic get away or a "girls getaway". The owners are onsight and are available to answer any questions and offer sightseeing and restaurant suggestions. The view is amazing from your patio deck and the host animals are wonderful. Two dogs and a cat are there to greet you when you come home! I highly recommend staying here and hope to return very soon. You will need to rent a car as this property is slightly remote and on a hill. Driving in St. Thomas is an adventure, but well worth it!

Amazing!

We recently returned from a vacation in St. Thomas, our second in 3 years. Lucinda's studio is something you have to experience! It's just like she says....listen to the waves crashing into the cliffs at night while you sleep. No need for a sound spa machine! The studio is fully equipped and the bed is very comfortable. The views are breathtaking! It's not on the beach, but Mandahl Bay is very close and there's a small beach and many times only a local person or two there. We didn't get to snorkel that area, but we heard it was good. It was a wonderful trip and should we go back to St. Thomas again, we will definitely stay at this amazing place! Thanks Lucinda for your hospitality! We miss your cat, Joker, and the dogs too!
