Worth every penny!

My husband and two kids (ages 3 and 7) and I came out to the cape for the first time and we had the BEST one week ever! A lot of this had to do with the location and condition of our rental property. We cannot recommend this place highly enough....it was clean, full of natural sunlight all day long, well furnished, well maintained and comfortable, and just all around wonderful! The owners were such nice, down-to-earth people and we felt very comfortable renting from them.
We rented the cottage with two bedrooms that had one full-sized bed in on and two twin beds in the other. There was plenty of bedding and all linens were provided. The decor was cozy and our kids felt right at home in that place! We cooked and ate half of our meals in that kitchen, which was well stocked with basic utensils and pots and pans. We would have eaten out more, but the kids wanted to eat at the cottage because they felt so comfortable there. There was the stacked washer and dryer in the bathroom, which were a bit noisy, but they worked very well and there was even laundry detergent on hand for our use! The bathroom was spacious and bright.
The location could not have been better for us. Route 6 is right in front of the property and Route 6A (Shore Road) was right behind us. We went all over the outer cape through these roads with such ease because of their close proximity. We thought it would be loud with all the cars going by on Route 6 in front of the house, but somehow the sound was less bothersome than we thought. Perhaps Pilgrim Lake and the dunes surrounding us dampened the sound a bit! Speaking of Pilgrim Lake, what a view!! We woke up every morning (we never woke up early enough to catch the sun rising right over the lake in front of the house, but I've been told that it does) to a beautiful view of the lake and the dunes in front of it. At night, the darkness of the area allowed the stars to shine in all their brilliance. We even caught a few falling stars during our star gazing!
There were plenty of restaurants and beaches within 10 minutes of the house. If you get a town beach sticker (which we did, with help from the owners) you can conveniently access all the town-managed beaches in the area for a one-time fee of $30. This is a nice deal if you are beach hoppers like we are! We particularly liked Head of the Meadow Beach and Race Point Beach (P-Town). This was definitely worth every penny and we recommend it highly to everyone looking to get away for a week!
